I got a nice deuce (M35A2) for saled in Buckeye, it's on Craigslist and Backpage (Sporting Goods section) if you want to check it out, the Super Single tires are coming off in the next day or two, and a nice set of standard 9.00x20 tires are going to be taking their place. Contact me through...
That's not even close to being "pretty far gone!" that's a diamond in the rough, I did a frame up restoration on a M3 halftrack in about that condition, would do it again if I could find one that complete!
My deuce runs 180 degrees give or take 5 degrees even in the summer going uphill, the radiator is bigger than the engine requires. putting the screen in front of the radiator will not restrict cooling....well once it gets FULL of bugs it will but the deuce runs great in the AZ desert in the...
I got Historic plates on mine here in Buckeye, AZ. I don't know if it's still true but when I registered mine about 9-10 years ago getting the Historic plate meant that meant no smog inspection, and NO weight fees.
I just took the entire front bumper unit off of my M1009, and mounted it on my civilian 87 Suburban, yes, you need all the support brackets but it's a bolt on installation, no drilling required.
Was bummed I couldn't make it, bought a 87 Suburban for a "CUCV" project, and the PS pump went out, had to replace that, and get my M1009 CUCV ready for it's new owner, been a busy weekend. But the pictures were great relief for not being able to make it....are there any other photos of that...
I think you're correct that's not a M109 bed it looks like a WWII bed off of a CCKW, but with all those windows, it would make a pretty cool camper. Nice find.
Not too many Strata Blue deuces out there, I think it would be unique and stand out from the crowd, just be sure you have thick enough skin to put up with the "purists!" But i think it would be cool.
On a M35A2 it's on the inside of the left side (port side for us Marines and Sailors) frame rail just behind the cab, I would ASSume its the same on a A3.
