The detents as mentioned above are internal to the transfer case, if it will not stay in gear it is internal damage.
This is why we constantly tell everyone to change ALL fluids and filters as soon as they get their trucks, that is an expensive lesson to learn.
I was riding with a young man on a Houston highway when he felt the steering "go away" as we started to hydroplane, he immediately planted all 150lb on the brake pedal, so here we go heading straight for the barrier in a Y in the highway, I had to repeatedly scream at him to get off the fn...
There is a cylinder underneath and it is hinged on one end to allow it to be raised as in a launcher.
Or at least vertical access, whatever it holds does not look to weigh very much
But to answer your question farther the 6.5l NA and Turbo IPs have larger plungers than the 6.2L, but again the 6.2L IP can be turned up to over deliver fuel to ether or all 6.2/6.5L engines
Would probably work but you would need a 400W resistor or a stack adding up to 400W and that would be running near 100%, no idea if it would work on a smart start box as they have more brains than the older boxes as you are not proving a full load.
That looks correct although I am a little confused on what is going on on the far right side of the picture, it looks like both of the small 12v wires are connected together, there is one "extra" 12V wire, the wires should have tags with numbers on them, I see tags on some of them, the larger...
Actually I forgot, the light is also feed by switched power so that does not mean switched power is also getting to the TCM although it sounds likely.
What model and serial is your HMMWV?
You would fry the one wire as it is not meant to carry the full load of all the glow plugs, It would be more correct to say it is looking for a large load, .5 ohms at 24V will carry around 50A
Welcome to the SS forums.
I would never use an outside ground to J2E only A
It sounds like you have a power issue causing the drain on the batteries.
The TCM runs on 12V, that is one of the two factory connections to the positive of the rear battery (the other is to the regulator), the TCM has...
Anything over around 15PSI starts to affect the timing, it has nothing to do with the amount of fuel delivered.
All 6.2/6.5L IPs can be turned up to far over deliver fuel so you do not need to change pumps (or IPs) to really screw things up.
Just remember that they have "afterglow" some boxes use pulse width (turn on and of a couple times a second) and other reduce the voltage for the after glow period which can be a couple minutes or so, I am not sure you will see the reduced voltage without the glow plugs attached and some smart...
