Had a great time in a local festival parade this morning supporting a great guy who is running for state senate. He is a Marine combat veteran so we had the globe and eagle flying.

Registering ex military vehicle in Louisiana

I wanted to share my experience with everyone concerning getting my M37 registered and titled in Louisiana and a little history of my restoration. It started about 4.5 years ago now that I took a trip to Alabama to get a 1954 M37 that did not have a title (Alabama does not issue titles to...

My new hobby: Wood military vehicles

These are so cool. Always wanted to get into scroll work when my shop was still a woodshop and not full of metal working/ MV parts . Which saw are you using? I made these for my kids years ago. I used my cheap craftsman scroll saw on several parts of these guns.

    Railroad Forum

I was lucky enough to get a ride in a high rail when I was at CN. Track inspector took pity on me when I had to walk to the engine from the rear car of a 1.5 mile grain train.

Thanks. They are. Some of them had 2 floors and some had 3 depending on if they hauled autos or trucks.

Valor, you know I loved the fact that I got to “play” with trains. Driving them by remote was on of the coolest things I have ever done. If it weren’t for the union and management, I wouldn’t have left.

This was me in the conductor seat back in 2007 when I worked for UP. I've never been in prison but I did do 3 years with UP and another 3 with CN. Best thing I ever did was quit while I could still afford to.

Louisiana - State Flagging Existing Titles, and Registering New Vehicles as Off-Road

As of 2 weeks ago they are still allowing it with no mention of having to have a physical plate. That has been the biggest part of this ordeal. The "truck" does have a title but that is a very integral part of the story that I will explain next week. (Fingers crossed!!!!!!)

Louisiana - State Flagging Existing Titles, and Registering New Vehicles as Off-Road

Thanks @juanprado. Next week I should have my M37 registered and titled as an ex military vehicle using the "in lieu of" hood numbers. I will write up the details once I get it completed. BTW, it has not been easy or fun!!!!!!!

What did you do to your M37 today?

I cut open the hole and put a bunch of bolts in it and rolled it a lot of times to loosen any rust. There are 2 weirs in there so I couldn't get to the corners so I did the best I could. I used POR15 to etch the metal and once it dried I used and am very pleased with Redcote . It is designed...

    Possible new M274 owner questions

The one I am looking at has an bubba seat on it. It looks to have the deck parts and it has a muffler. I need to get better pics from him to see other parts.

    Possible new M274 owner questions

When time allows, I am going to look at a 1969 M274 A5 that if for sale not too far from me. The seller says that it runs and he recently added electric starter to it. What parts should I make sure are not missing (as I have read that some parts are becoming very hard to find)? Anything in...

    AN/TSW-7C

I have been volunteering there for several months now and I really enjoy the time spent there. I was talking with the curator today and he wants to arrange some sort of event for owners of MVs at the museum. I’ll let you know if I hear anything.
