Coug I agree at first my HMMWV was unstoppable - both good and bad - but I found with some active brake pumping it performs quite well in the snow. Definitely needs longer stopping distance than a car, but it is 3.5 tons.
I would love to get ahold of a Ricardo Defense ABS kit for the HMMWV -...

Top quality rim, a bit more expensive than Black Rhino but better built, higher load capacity, and factory offset. That makes them the clear choice.
I run BFG T/A KO2s on much more severe winter weather than you'll ever see in Connecticut and they are fantastic in the snow. You'll need to switch to 17" rims for that (I don't think they offer a 16.5 version for the 2 piece military rims).

One could make a pretty good living buying the non-runners from GP and parting them out.
$5K for a set of doors? Almost covers the cost of a buying the truck if you get one with doors.
I fled New York, I just need to update my location.
HMMWV’s seem to be pretty rare in High Country CO. I know of only one other in Routt County. I also know of a guy in Grand County who has one inbound but is waiting for his EUC to clear.
Drove over Independence Pass the other day (not in...
