There's a laundry list of stuff that can be wrong, but just the thought of riding on a highway with potentially catastrophically failing MTR tires should be enough to give anyone pause.

If EMP is your concern, then ground the HMMWV when parked (a simple 12 or 14 gauge cord from the body to the floor) and the body will act as the Faraday cage to shield the interior components.
I had thought myself about buying this one on ebay and doing a refurb as you are. Luckily the seller refused several reasonable offers for the unit and I don't have that burden. Had I bought it I was going to paint it via my friend who works at a body shop and can bake on paint properly.
Wondering if anyone has used an M1101 or M1102 to transport a snowmobile or two. The dimensions look a little short on length, but possible.
Has anyone done this who can share experiences or especially photos? I'd appreciate some ideas.
