I don't know if HMMWV battery hold downs accomodate more than one type of battery, but you might check. CUCV hold downs work with 6tl and group 31 batteries.
av8or put a pass through on his M916/146 box camper. He used a large flexible acordian type seal between the cab and the box. There may be a thread about it somewhere.
These alternators don't loose magnetism as there are no magnets like in a generator. The regulator set point is 14.8 volts. You should see a tenth of a volt one way or the other depending on the battery state of charge.
He was over qualified. And be honest, after he hauled A, the second thought that crossed your mind (after oh sheet!), was this guy might be smarter than I thought. Be thankful the Twinkies were not in the same bag with the beer.
I don't blame the guard, if I saw a herd of sweat hogs coming at me and the only thing between me and the great beyond was a piddly little 9MM, I would run too.
No, the resistor is between the trio and ground terminal. The trio provides the voltage to operate the regulator. The resistor either has something to do with exciting the regulator and/or turning on the dash light in certain applications, I would have to look it up because I don't remember the...
I originally had my M35A2 with Statefarm. Since then I have used Gulfway as my agent. My MV policies were originally underwritten by Travelers with Gulfway as the agent. Travelers no longer offers collector insurance so Gulfway set me up with Hagerty. I currently have two ex-military trucks and...
A question, if you are paying close to $2k a year to insure a 18 year old vehicle, is there some problem with your driving record other than your age? That will make a significant difference on what you pay or if you can get insurance. Have you asked your insurance company what they would charge...
The derating comes from the supply circuit capabilities. You lose at least a third of the amp capacity on single phase. If the supply circuit has a high enough amp capacity or you have a small motor, it probably doesn't matter.
I got tired of buying 4 batteries when 2 work fine. With 4 batteries, when one goes bad, you have to buy 2 to replace both in that series pair. You can try replacing one, but in my experience that only makes the other one fail faster. If you have a truck that requires a lot of cranking to start...
I understand that, however the OP doesn't know how the electrical system in his truck works and suggesting a solution to a problem he doesn't have is confusing. It's better to explain how the electrical system in his truck works so he can see for himself. Maybe he will take the time and read...
That would be true for that situation. However, this thread is about a M916A1, and since a M915A1 which I have, is the same electrically, I answered OP questions based on his truck, which is a dual voltage design.
