So basically it is self repairing? The shorting coil did its job and shorted and broke. (What were they thinking?) So the meter should now work if it is set correctly. Are the connections clean and tight? And are you getting voltage to those connections?
The date on that meter is 2/05, that...
If the resistor is burnt you will have to fix it or replace it. Do you want to keep it original or would you prefer to have a digital gauge which is much more accurate? Next question would be why did it fail?
Those glow plugs are tough to find. I just got a full box of 10 Champion 182 CH42 plugs online $170.55. That was a rarity, you will need to search to find them, they have not been made for quite some time now. Generally they are going for $50.00 each.
Thank you very much for that last video! That is exactly what mine does. So I will be watching this to see where it heads. On mine I completely bypassed the whole fuel system and ran from a fuel can through a small inline filter into the p[ump to eliminate any and all restrictions and I got...
But what if oil is low and basically the same as an oil light flickering. Fuel on, off,on,off . So it would be starting and shutting off in milliseconds
Walmart uses East Penn batteries and they are very good batteries. I have used them for many years. Also, I have a guy on my g838 forum that sells the top hold downs made especially for the 51R batteries. This is a popular swap in the M151. The 51R has twice the power of the old military 2HN...
I tend to disagree with Guyfang here. If there is fuel leaking out of that fitting, which is under pressure from the pumps, it is not going to cause a lean issue at the pump. Pressure is pushing fuel out so air is not coming is. Now, if that check valve got plugged that could do it. Did you look...
LOL. I also have a Ford diesel, and a Dodge diesel, And a CUCV diesel, and three military diesel gensets. 12 batteries! Tell me about battery poor!!!!!! Those ford batteries are huge. I moved mine to the Dodge for a trip and they are bigger than the dodge batteries, had to do some squeezin'.
By...
I think the numbers on the brackets are just that, P/N for the bracket. The pump number will be on the pump body. But, As Guy says, if it works well in the Aux position then leave it there. But also, as mentioned about the bad part be sure you mark the aux pump as what it came from so you do not...
Two group 24 batteries will do more than just fine. I put the old batteries from my Dodge dually in my 003 and they fit fine. That is massive overkill though. They are Group 65.
Thread sealant does not usually present a problem wit pipe threads, they get tighter the more you thread them in and the thread will cut through the sealant. You can check with an ohm meter to see if you have a good ground. Just go from the metal body of the sender to a clean spot on the engine...
I saw your last post after I posted. You say it does the same thing even free flowing. Have you checked all of the outlet fittings and hose for any restrictions? I have seen rubber hoses delaminate and the flap that falls down inside blocks the line in one direction only. I have seen this in...
When the pump builds pressure it will stop, if it is deadheaded as your is it cannot move the fuel anywhere so it stops. This is perfectly normal for electric impulse pumps. Rotary vane pumps run all the time. If you have flow it should run forever till the batteries die. In actual use if you...
You could just unscrew the solenoid off of the pump and put the inlet line on the pump there and test as you were. This eliminates the solenoid for testing. But again, that inlet line needs to go to the source of the fuel, in the can.
Ok, But you need the Aux in line in the tank of fuel and the aux out line into a can. This is the only way that pump will pump fuel. If the onboard tank is empty then the solenoid should click and allow the pump to pick up fuel. That pump is not tied into the main fuel circuit in any way, it...
