    Ford Gold Anti Freeze

I have a bunch of new in the bottle Ford Orange Anti Freeze designed for the 6.0 Powerstroke diesel. I need to flush the coolant out of the Deuce and install the new heater. Do y'all think the Gold anti freeze is a good match for the Deuce system or should I just go buy the normal green anti freeze?

    wanting some info on dueces

Greasemonkey: I am about to drive my bobbed Deuce from San Diego Ca, to Gainseville Fl in Feb. I have done a bunch of long drives, from San Diego to Paradise Ca, just above Chico. I just did 402 miles today in it. And I drive 100 miles every weekday. I use it as my commuter. It has the 395's and...

    I am finished

Looks like you did a really good job. Its a work of art. Those body lines are perfect and well worth the time you put into it.

    Deuce trailer build thread

I ran out of funds and time to put in the drive line. It'll have to wait until I get to Fl or Ga in Feb.

    Deuce trailer build thread

Well here are the pictures of what I've done this past weekend. I weighed it yesterday at the base scales, 7240 lbs. Just a bit more than I planned but that's okay. It'll hold whatever I want to put on it. It's just a little over built. I ended up running duals to handle the extra load on the...

    Driveability of 395's vs. NDT's

I'm running the Micheline's. Plus I added a picture of the new tires I'm going to put on after I wear out the current ones.

    Driveability of 395's vs. NDT's

I live in San Diego and commute to Camp Pendleton. I have a Ford F250 that I drive on most Fridays, just because on friday the traffic is so bad the 50 mile trip usually takes 2 to 2 1/2 hours. That much time on the clutch is rough on the left leg. There are days that I put her in low and 2nd...

    Broke your motor from WMO?

My truck had 2600 miles on the odometer when I brought her home. I am now at 36500 as of parking her tonight. In the 5 years I've been driving her I've only put Diesel in on special occasions. Going snow wheeling or hunting up in the mountains above 6000 ft in the winter. Most of the time I run...

    Driveability of 395's vs. NDT's

I commute 100 miles a day through San Diego traffic with my bobbed Deuce. I am running 395's and wouldn't switch back to NDT's if you paid me. I regularly take my truck off road in the sand, rocks, and desert trails. Snow is a lot of fun too.

This post is asking for advice. Due to it being the holidays, about to move across country, and also about to retire I can't buy the brake system I was originally going to get. So now I am thinking of making what I have work. I have 4 master cylinders left over from M105 trailers. Here are my...

Bringing the Deuce back to 100%

A couple things done Today I got pretty busy on the old girl. I rewired the horns so they work again. I braced the passenger side mirror so I can see more than the ground or sky depending on road speed. I installed a windshield washer bottle. I finally mounted the trailer wiring plug too. And I...

    Bobbed Deuce suspension question

Mine has a whole lot of bounce when I am in reverse with no load in the bed. Once I am rolling it's fine or if I have 1000 lbs or so in the bed it's fine. Going forward it doesn't ever bounce unless I'm in deep sand or deep snow.

Bringing the Deuce back to 100%

A few weeks ago I changed the hose going behind the oil filters because it was bulged and about to blow. Last night on the way home from work the new one blew. I was southbound on the I5 right off of Camp Pendleton. What a joy that was. My wife brought me another spare I had sitting in the...

    Deuce trailer build thread

Well today I did a lot to the trailer. Unfortunately none of it looks like I did a lot. My arms are burnt though. Welding upside down sucks. The sparks always find a way though or around the PPE. So I welded a scab plate to every joint today. I had already put them on top of the joints, now...

    Deuce trailer build thread

I didn't do much that you can see today. I worked on the brakes, the master cylinder I am using got a little junk built up in it from sitting around for the last couple years. So I took it apart and cleaned it all out. It's working pretty good now. I should be able to get it mounted tomorrow. I...

    Deuce trailer build thread

Here are a couple pictures from yesterday. I didn't get as far as I wanted but that's ok. I got the left side center wheel arch brace made and welded in, and the front wheel well brace made and welded in. Like I said not as much as I wanted but it's getting closer.

    Deuce trailer build thread

I am using air over hydraulic brakes. I am going to put discs on the axles in place of the stock drums at some point. I am doing the same conversion to the Deuce too. I am completely removing the stock brake system and replacing it with a more modern set up. With the air over hydraulic system I...

    Deuce trailer build thread

I have been told by my buddies that I have a slight problem when it comes to overbuilding things. I am always worried that it won't be strong enough so I keep adding until I am 100% sure that it'll hold whatever I plan to do with it. As for this trailer I know as it sits it'll hold a truck with...
