    TX42 Glow Plug Controller?

No, The octopus was not an engineering masterpiece. At least not when put into production. It combined the CUCV sensor that is screwed into the cylinder head for temperature sensing and the printed circuit board under the dash all into 1 housing exposed to vibration, heat and liquid. At least...

    TX42 Glow Plug Controller?

That is the “octopus” controller for the very early civilian 6.2. I know they used them at least as long as 1984.

    Anyone install seat belts?

Threaded holes are in the floor already so seat belts are easy. I used HMMWV ones. I like the idea of self retracting models. A wet muddy strap across your lap is not always good.

    My first m35a1!..i think?

NDT figured out the numbers while I was writing.

    My first m35a1!..i think?

Are your rear engine mounts held in with rivets or bolts? That is the standard for a Gasser swapped over to a multifuel. If rivets, that is the engine the frame came with. If bolts then it has been swapped over. I think you have a Gasser frame and multifuel body work. The thing about going...

    CUCV CDR Hose replacement

I forgot about the partitioned intake. The one of mine that I swapped over has a HMMWV open plenum. Thanks for bringing it up.

    CUCV CDR Hose replacement

The non turbo valve cover mounted CDR just has a single hose that goes to the intake. Exactly like the 6.2 unit. But, just a single hose to one side under the air filter. Not trying to sell you on a bunch of work. If you can get good 6.2 parts. That is the easiest route to go.

    CUCV CDR Hose replacement

When they built the last 6.2, they built the last set of those fittings. So, any you find will be over 30 years old. Keep that in mind when looking. The 6.5 engine got the press into the valve cover CDR. That is a much better set up for us looking to keep an old engine running. You will need a...

I finally had good enough weather and the time to make a video:

    My first m35a1!..i think?

The gasser had 4th gear up and right With 5th 1:1 bottom right. The multifuel used the 1:1 gear as 4th and had an overdrive gear in the up and right spot as 5th.

    My first m35a1!..i think?

I was thinking cab swap as well. But, the incredibly complex and about 15 piece Gasser throttle linkage seems to be all there and mounted correctly. I can’t see the tunnel covers to try and guess the age that way. Is the starter foot push or finger push? REO Gassers had foot push.

Ever find anything interesting hiding in your CUCV?

I found a 1984 skating party invitation up under the dash on one of mine. I posted a picture of it here 12 or more years ago. We figured out it was for a rink in Flint and was “installed“ during assembly. You never know.

Brake help support after new master cylinder

Are you using a pressure bleeder, a helper pushing on the pedal or just opening the bleeder valves?

    My first m35a1!..i think?

Water cooled air compressor is from the 1950’s. REO engine looks like mine: Does your cab have welded in door gussets?

Brake help support after new master cylinder

It blows the brake fluid out while you are pushing the brakes or after you let off and the pedal is all the way back up? Have you adjusted all of the shoes? At least what the TM calls a minor adjustment.

That is the proper tool. I got mine out this morning so I can do a how to video once the rain stops. I was thinking about this thread.

    84 Blazer "Thankful I'm alive"

I agree about the wrong combination of tow vehicle and trailer. A M1009 is a very unstable towing vehicle. How the tires look doesn’t matter. What was the build date on the tires? That is the most important thing to check on vehicles that have been sitting. However, a blown tire would not...
