I'm considering selling my M929 dump bed. Bought it to install on my M51A2, but never got done. Had it a couple years, sitting on my trailer. Seems to be a complete assembly.
I'm not sure what to ask for it, so I'll start at $4,000. If I'm way off, let me know.
Located in southeast...
He definitely seemed to know what he was doing. Was interesting to watch. He got it nearly exactly where I had envisioned it. I'll chain on with the M51a2 and shift it a touch this weekend
I've always had an interest in wreckers and towing and winching. All the different little attachments...
The way they said they would move it was on a roll back. They said 26 foot bed, let the rest hang off, and put tow lights on the back. They were scheduled to move it today, but apparently not. Hopefully tomorrow.
I needed to move an empty container, which seemed within the specs of the M720. Found that one pretty cheap and close to me. Figured it might be handy in the future. Maybe I could adapt it, but time is short to get it moved, so I've called in a tow company that can move it with a rollback...
Thank you, so much. That's not the answer I was hoping for, but the odds of it being the right one, and close to me, and priced right all at the same time were not in my favor.
I'm looking at getting a 40 foot shipping container. And someone semi local has what I believe to be a M720 dolly set.
Can the M720 move a shipping container? It would be empty. Search indicates roughly 5000 pounds.
If you are just chasing the threads, not cutting new, I would recommend using a rethreading set instead of a tap. It just cleans up the existing threads, rather than cutting new ones.
I have concerns, or at least questions, about fuel.
You said multi-fuel running on gas.
Are you running straight gas? That's not a great idea, as I understand it. Needs to at least have some oil in it to lubricate top end and injection pump. And, I believe, it's only to be used in an...
I've not been in one of those, but something looks to be wearing.
There does appear to be wear on the right side of the shift fork. I don't know how much is normal.
Possibly some notching un the long splines on the shaft in the second picture.
The Chalet came on the Chevy K5 Blazer. The Casa Grande was on the GMC Jimmy. Was a dedicated unit. Can be removed, but wasnt really designed to be. Only sold a couple years. 76-77, i think.
There were also aftermarket units made by companies like FWD, Hallmark, etc.
If you aren't trying to stay strictly military, I would recommend something like I have. This one happens to be a 20 foot tilt deck (had ramps added later), dual 6k torsion axles, but there are a plethora of configurations.
The key is the hitch. It's an adjustable height hitch, that allows...
