GENERAL MOTORS 24210468, filter.... G. M. 8677743 gasket.... NAPA in my neck of the woods shows the gasket , but would have to cross over the filter number. Just saying the quality of the parts is different. And beautiful country you live in, spent a bunch of time in Bangor and Bremerton. At...
I do not think there is more than one filter for the pan. It uses a separate tube between the filter and trans body. Again MAC or one of the gov. supply chains is your friend!! Gasket, filter and o rings. Quality stuff.
All the later HUMMER's should work(if not I'm sure someone will pipe in). Some of the internals are different on the military trucks and the early one have the older coolant routing on the passenger side. If you are just looking for a pan it should not be a problem. The normal maintenance is drop...
Original fuel??????? The color could indicate "offroad" fuel.............. Any solids in the bottle???? Back to my original point.... fuel then no fuel..... Start at one end (the tank) and make "sure" everything is clean and unobstructed. If you have recently changed then filter I would open up...
New to you truck...... start at go..... eyeball in the tank...one way valves in the fuel lines.... fuel filter and housing.... if it then pumps the correct amount of fuel "past" the fuel filter (squirts don't count) time for a pump overhaul. PIA but you will be happier in the long run. My 2 cents.
WARNING... rant/pet peeve to follow...... If you haven't already opened up the fuel filter attention should be paid to any slim/algae/Diesel snot/microbes growing on the outside of the filter. If anything ugly is present a good cleaning of the fuel system is in order...... tank, lines, check...
I have a suspicion the algae growth has something to do with translucent nature of the tanks themselves. The fuel treatment has instructions for "shock treating" the fuel. This will kill the algae "in place" but leaves something akin to coffee grounds when it kills it. Once growing (slimy...
I think you will be surprised at how fast algae will grow in diesel fuel in these trucks. Over the course of my career I've purchased close to 3/4 of a million gallons of diesel and never had a bio problem until the HMMWV's came along. I dose every tank with POWER GUARD. Let us know what you...
When you get through with the pump I would suggest that you check the fuel system for BIO contamination. REMOVE and inspect the fuel filter, LOOK at the inside of the fuel tank for contamination that could stop up the sock on the fuel pickup. Just my 2 cents.
Let me add a PS. If you did not remove the fuel filter canister from the fire wall you should pay special attention to the cavity in the bottom of the filter housing where it accumulates water. This needs to be cleaned thoroughly. This housing can be a real PITA to replace, comes off pretty...
