I mount my own as well. The O-rings come in two sizes: too big and too small. You can read stories about heating up the small ones or freezing the large ones, none of that is worthwhile. Get the big ones (or even a spool of the correct diameter rubber), use a single edged razor blade to cut the...
Oooh, I see.
I have one of those diesel transfer pumps from HF. Quite often I see a piece of construction equipment waaaaay out in the boonies ( or even in the median of a major interstate) just parked there, "offering " to donate fuel in an emergency :)
I have never had to take up the offer...
added a spare spare
and an easily accessible hydraulic jack.
At least two of the other rigs that I travel with run the same 16.5 inch, two piece, double beadlock wheels that I do. The tire on the bottom of the stack is mounted, ready to go. The top is a tire only. Recall these H1 wheels/tires...

Oh, I don't know, I can imagine DC motors driving alternators, power steering pump, even an air conditioning compressor. Could be a modular design: each function in a box with its corresponding motor. Just a thought experiment, not claiming its practical.
inventory of 34 yr old parts
Now that I have made safety improvements (still need the 5 pt harnesses) its time to improve reliability. I can get into some pretty remote desert locations. Working from nose to tail, am listing any part that is 34 years old. Those parts will get queued up for...
New exhaust system. Went from dual to single, drivers side exit. This is because the dual mufflers take up alot of real estate under there, and I need the space passenger side for "transfer case stuff".
