I'd never tried it before since I'd never needed it. I gave it a shot this morning and it's either working or the truck started without it. I'll pick up a spare bottle in case I try to start it Monday morning to prep it (still supposed to be in the 20s) and it's not working. That'll at least...
Anyone have suggestions on cold starting? Forecast for next Tuesday morning is 22°. It hesitated starting for the 1st time I've had it yesterday when it was 38°. I would hate to be a no show next week because global warming ended early.
I haven't done much with the truck for several months other than go out and move it around the driveway, however next week I'm going to be helping Adidas with a promotion at the Army All American Bowl taking place at the Alamodome in San Antonio. While moving the truck around the last several...
That's great until you have a little of it left over in the lines or fuel rail that doesn't get preheated and starts clogging everything up when it resolidifies. If you're thinking of a MV and then concerned with either fuel mileage or the cost of fuel then you're looking at the wrong vehicle...
If you don't mind getting a Class B or higher license then go with the 923. If you would prefer something that doesn't require additional government involvement go with the LMTV. I've had both and enjoyed driving both. There's positives and negatives to be had with either. Remember that...
Sorry this has been completely off my radar. Unfortunately we already have plans for this afternoon. Hopefully we can do something in January.
On a side note, I'll be doing an Adiddas give away promotion on Jan 2 at the Alamo Dome. They wanted a MV to pass shoes out to the high school...
RAJ LMTV did it last you from Ft Worth but split the drive into 2 days. I don't think I can do that even then with my LMTV. Any trips of that length from now on are in the POV or riding with someone else.
It's 7 hours for me but looks about 10 from your place. You definitely need to spend more than a day or 2 there to make it worthwhile. I was hoping for a week this time but things didn't pan out and I doubt I'll make it back for several years.
Wound up going solo (well the wife was there too :) ) in my POV. We actually had a great time and I met up with a fellow from MD I connected with on Expedition Portal. Unfortunately he was driving a Subaru Forester so couldn't do the road I really wanted to try - Black Gap Road. I did it...
Unless you were walking through quicksand it was probably tough to get yourself stuck miles from nowhere :)
(Yes I know he could have gotten hurt and been stranded, just making a joke. Lighten up Francis)
Well that was what this was supposed to be. Nothing close to me that offers any real "stress test" for the equipment so the next outing will be on the way to the Overland West Expo next May. "Car Camping" was not what I had in mind when I started investing in this and the only real way to try...
At this point looks like everyone is bailing. Since no one else will be there the MRS said if I went I had to stay on improved roads only as there wouldn't be any back up in case I got stuck. Thought about ignoring her but then if I did get stuck there would be heck to pay. So to me, if I'm...
Actually the registration is good for 5 years but it is a fixed date so if you register in the middle you pay a prorated amount. In 2018 your registration will be for 5 years.
As far as value you should have paperwork including an invoice that shows what you paid for it. Falsifying paperwork...
Several friends in the running this month but I've got to go with m38inMaine. He provided much needed support, parts, and encouragement while I was working on my Goat and his is a fine example of a Cold War era machine.
You're more than welcome to come, stay, and go up on Saturday with us but like I told Rory, Juli will be driving the truck up. They give her crap all the time about not attending events so this is the chance for her to do so.
As to the cruise control, the more I think about it the less I...
