I understand where you're coming from but it didn't seem porky was being antagonistic but he sure got responses like he was intentionally trying to start something. I'm just tired of everyone looking for a reason to be outraged. I guess my point wasn't entirely clear with the examples of what...

    m1088

I’m surprised at the over sensitivity of some people to porkeysplace’s comment. I own a M1078 and, as NDT stated, realize it takes a lot of work and patience. You need to be a ninja with a multimeter, or know someone that is, able to read (and understand) the TMs, troubleshoot a plethora of air...

    military vehicles sent overseas

My M1078 had a dispatch log and paperwork from S. Korea. I have no idea if it was stationed there or went over and back with a unit but it was there at some point.

LMTV Alternator Disaster, engine now catastophic

That sounds like the less stress version.

LMTV Alternator Disaster, engine now catastophic

Gearing and full time four wheel drive cuts the LMTV mileage considerably.

New Member Question: Red and yellow rear placards

To each his own. I personally like the way it sets the truck off (beyond what the bare aluminum tailgate does). I haven't seen another M1078 in personal hands with them so consider mine a bit unique.

LMTV Alternator Disaster, engine now catastophic

Wow, sorry for the bad luck. As much as I like mine, if the engine goes the truck goes too.

Here's a couple of pics of mine.

    FMTV door gizmos

We called them TM bags since that was about the only thing (other than pogey bait) we kept in them.

Steel Soldiers MV of the YEAR 2017 - VOTE HERE!

I thought as much (racoons voting :wreckerman893: or possums) but now I keep hearing Olivia Newton-John singing "Let's get Criminal, criminal. I want to get criminal..."

Steel Soldiers MV of the YEAR 2017 - VOTE HERE!

Beyond PMing people to vote for your truck or starting a different thread specifically asking for people to vote for you - both of which are specifically against the rules - (or one of the admins throwing extra votes - just kidding) what would constitute voter fraud?

Looking for Generator Mechanic in South/Central TX

Obvious waste of time trying to offer anyone a work opportunity when all you get are people full of snark. If anyone would like a job PM me rather than dealing with this crap.

Looking for Generator Mechanic in South/Central TX

Or maybe I don’t have the means or the time to do it myself. I notice by your signup date and number of posts that I’ve been a member here longer than you so you can assume I know my way around the forum. You can either be of assistance or just stay out of the thread. Whatever you choose will...

Looking for Generator Mechanic in South/Central TX

As the title says I’m looking for someone that can do some diagnostics and repairs on a couple of MEP gen sets. One is a 002A and one a 003A. Both are having fuel issues. The 2A can be delivered for repair but the 3A is positioned in such a way as I’d prefer not to have to move it.

    Fire extinguisher recall of Kidde

I just saw this thread today and checked mine. Out of 6 Kidde units I have 3 on the list but only 2 apparently met the guidelines - 2.5 from our bedroom and a 5 from my POV. Both are important but I think the 5 can save my vehicle whereas the 2.5 is just to get out the door in an emergency...

Yearly Tow Plans for your FMTV and other vehicles

Not sure if this is breaking the “no insurance discussion” rules but my last tow was $850 and completely covered by the policy. They said I was fully covered anywhere within 200 miles of home.

Buying a HEMTT across the country

There are a couple of classic insureres that don't require garaging. I'm not going to start naming them or I'd be in violation of the "no insurance talk" rules but anyone that wants to know can PM me. I've used both of them for my deuce and M1078.

    Working on the M1078 LMTV

She started and I made it without too much traffic even. However I got word last night that I cannot take any photos or video during the vent so these are the only pics I’ll probably get. Currently I’m a private vehicle in a public place so they can’t do anything about these.

    Working on the M1078 LMTV

Well she started this morning. She wasn’t happy about it but started. Now just as long as she does it tomorrow morning.
