    2 12v or 1 24v Battery Tender?

I would have to agree, 2 12v chargers. As mentioned, a 24v charger hooked to 2 12v batteries (versus a native 24v battery) will not properly charge both batteries. Chargers are looking at voltage to determine how to charge or stop charging. You could have one battery at 11 volts and one at 13...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

More work yesterday. My balancer installer came in. I actually used to install the new front seal. Got the balancer installed but still need to torque it. Got the re-cored radiator back and it's nice. Got it installed and then new hoses. I had picked up a NOS lower M1010 specific hose. It...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I doubt it. All gauges I have ever worked with always had a ground connector as many times they are mounted in something non conductive (i.e. the dash cluster). I know on my last M1010 when I converted it all to 12v, I took the original gauge out, cut the two connectors off the old gauge...

    New gauges for my M1010

Not yet but very soon. I finally got to redoing the cooling system so I have gotten the new oil and water senders installed. Once I finish up getting the radiator back in and new hoses installed, my focus will be on getting the gauge panel installed. Hopefully in the next couple weeks. :)

    Need Oil Cooler O-rings

No I mean the FelPro part number. I don't need GM ones, I only used that part number as a reference since it is in the TM. I just need new O-rings and don't care who makes them. I want to get this radiator in this weekend so I need to get something from the parts store.

    Need Oil Cooler O-rings

Do you have a part number? Most parts stores are totally clueless and I have not been able to track the part down in a different brand.

    Need Oil Cooler O-rings

Hi all, I just got my radiator back from being re-cored and I need the O-rings that go on the oil cooler lines that go into the radiator. I looked in the TM and found the part number of 14055585 which seems to be those O-rings but in doing a Google search, it appears these are discontinued and...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Those are not affecting the rubber ring being split. It is getting replaced with my Fluidampr that I already have for it.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Yes sir, I am replacing that seal. Yeah, this isn't the first time I have had balancers go bad. Very common on older SBC engines. You can see on the back side where the rubber started to split and is just starting to poke out from the edge, this is the start and will only get progressively worse.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Been getting some more work done on the M1010. Finished up the Paradox kit. Got some adapters to use my new water temp sender and the crossover bypass port to the water pump. Because the angle of the Humvee bypass port is different than the stock crossover, I found I needed to use a molded...

Anyone Running a Dometic Fridge? 12 or 24v?

Yeah, it doesn't sound like a capacity issue, since that is related to how many hours you can run it. Voltage is the main issue and if it is dropping down to 23.5, that is likely tripping the low voltage cut off. If you're dropping below 24 volts, you batteries are low on charge, especially if...

Anyone Running a Dometic Fridge? 12 or 24v?

Check your battery voltage without the engine running. It could be below the low battery voltage cut off set point on the fridge. With the engine running it is likely getting a voltage that is high enough to allow it to start the compressor. Not familiar with that model to know if you can...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

So far fairly simple but getting to those rear ports is a PITA. I was literally laying on top of the engine. A couple notes for ya. The driver rear sender, if you remove the sender with the adapter bushing from the plate, it will screw right into one of the upper ports on the new crossover...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

This week I have been working on the cooling system. Was hoping to just flush out the radiator, replace hoses, add my Paradox By Design cooling it and refill with new coolant. After draining the radiator, it was looking like it would need to be boiled out. Took it down to the radiator shop...
