I hear Saturn Surplus had them. It should be the same as a civilian motor. Get the part number from the TM and Google.
Did you try the classifieds here? Post a want ad, I'm sure somebody here has one.
Keep in mind too, Keith_J posted this a while back in another balancer related thread, kinda...
The pulley is most likely bent. I would get a new pulley if it was my truck. I'm not sure if it can do any damage to the motor as is but I wouldn't risk it.
So I attempted to do my front brakes and overhaul the hubs and lockouts. Ended up having to replace the hub bodies and the bearings. They looked pretty rough. Then noticed that the threads on the spindle were pretty messed up, looks like the anti-rotational washer cracked, spun and took out a...
Ok some pictures. As you can see the rubber on my balancer was shot. See the swelling and the cracks? A couple pictures are shots of how the KD Tool 2291 was used. It worked great and was affordable. The one end of the tool had a standard end for pulling with, the other end was a hex head...
Cool. Thanks. I know I posted earlier in the thread about installing this harness, well I just finally got around to ordering one yesterday.
I'm going to install the harness, snap a few pics for SS, then hopefully in the next month or so install my new to me dash harness/fuse box.
Re: Tried to dyi caused problem. Help Please!
That is your glow plug relay.
Check the fusable links for signs of being burnt.
Also, I suggest reading the Cucv wiki, fusable link sticky and checking out the GP wiring diagrams in The TM.
I'm going to add a few questions here instead of starting a new thread.
Why would one have to replace the actual hub body? I have to do my brakes and I'm going to get my rotors turned or replace them. I noticed at the part store they are available with or with out the hub body?
Do the races...
I got my truck all done yesterday. I was really surprised how swollen, rotted and degraded the rubber was on the old one. I used the KD tools puller to remove and install. I'm gonna get some pictures up of the new and old balanced and how to use the tool.
So has anybody else had the wrong size bolts holding the crank pulley on?
I took out metric fine thread bolts. Noticed the threads were chewed up a little. I tried to thread them into my new balancer and they wouldn't go. So I started trying other hardware and a 3/8 x 16 bolt fits perfect. Even...
I've seen burgandy dash and burgandy door panels, grey dash and burgandy doors, I've even seen blue doors and a grey dash.
I'm sure there are others too.
I agree. Keeping the outside as original looking as possible helps. Tons of cool modifications, antennas and lights everywhere, etc. etc. just scream look at me.
I think it would be fine. I've had two Jeeps, both with soft tops and they really aren't that bad in the winter.
If everything keeps going as planned. Ill be picking one of these up in the next couple months. I plan on writing a detailed review and step by step install.
I finally received the Woodruff keys from the Chevy dealership. The guy was really nice and didn't even charge me postage. Harmonic balancer time this weekend!
