Voted for Migginsbros, mainly for pure persistence in adding their forklift to the mix month after month and campaigning for it endlessly. And its time again something else than the usual type of trucks get the price.
True, they don't know what they miss in their own country. There trains are more spacey than ours here in Europe,; well equipped, but they are muuuuch slllloooower. Went by train once from Washington to Dalhousie, New Brunswick (Canada). Very nice ride, but not the 85-100 mph of the...
Maybe time to change the colors of the banner of do something else with it to attract attention that we are now in the next phase of real voting for a design. I already started to ignore the banner when starting up.
There are some nice examples of 5-ton crew cabs on the site. DaveP has a nice tractor with sleeper with a trailer behind it (I think it is an M54 long frame to make room for the sleeper and still keep the fifth wheel.
Bob or not, it all depends on what you want to do/achieve with the truck...
Again, this thread brings me back to some nice old times and recent times here and has a lot of links. Did not hear about that game since the 1980s. We used to play Risk until deep in the morning. One guy even going so far as to take it very personall and getting upset because somebody...
Driving our 5-ton in the Netherlands to the DoT for road safety testing.
A friend of me and I decided one year in the mid 1980s that Christmas and Silvester was getting boring in the Netherlands, so we bought a Volkswagen T2 "hippie bus", threw a platform with mattress and sleeping bags in the...
You paid $ 2,500 for that monster??? That is scrap value or even less. That's not an impulsive buy but a good investment. Who cares about dents, gives it a really used military look. Also, you can start a steel band with some people inside hammering the dents out. Or use this technique with...
Now to your remarks in the first post.
Not fitting in all streets of historic towns. Some streets you really don't fit, but most main streets even in historic towns are no problem. The biggest problem will be your turning circle and if you have power steering (a must).
Another problem will be...
I will happily join the discussion and extend an invitation to visit us as well. I am a European: a Dutchman working in the Czech Republic with a French car bought from an Austrian party. I drove a 5-ton in the Netherlands. Not much, but still. And drove LHD cars (but not trucks) in the UK. And...
Your kidding, right? No your not. I started to say it sounds like an pre-1900 Gatling Gun, then read up on the things and found out that that is exactly what it is. With all the billions invested in these machines, nobody thought about adding some sort of safety pall? Must be cheaper than an...
Rally is over, now go vote for the best MV of the months before ...
... both bear's get angry (used to be my nickname loooong time ago as well, when I still had a lot of hairs and a real beard)
Did somebody already thanked CLINTO for all the work he put in it? I attended only the 2014 meeting, but I recognize a good job when I see it. The behind the scenes organizing is huge for such events and takes lots of time and energy and patience (especially of those around you).
:not...
The Unimogs are all-wheel drive multi-purpose do-all -go-everywhere vehicles, ranging from small tractor-like to big. Most have a relative high ground clearing. Whatever the role it is used for, regular over the road cargo is not one of them. Tatra are best known for their very sturdy cargo...
A late welcome, from a Dutchman in the Czech Republic, did not see the thread earlier but got it through the 20 year logo thread.
As to parts, I think that the real MV yards like Staman, REOMIE, DvanDam, have NOT much on the CUVC, but there should be other non-MVs who have old blazer stuff...
