The new front end sheet metal is the result of adding the Cat engine , with the need for more room for the cooling RAD's . The hood is actually the same , but stretched , the filler metal in the middle . Alot of the common stuff is the same 40+ year old stuff as the A2.
I agree with all of the above , get the BIGGEST door you can , PLUS make the pole barn BIGGER than what you think you need , they do fill up fast . Try and get as much ceiling height as possiable 12' to 14' . Think about possiable future use . I would also put 2" foam board under the slab...
Please be careful on the drive home , you should at least get somebody to put your MV on a lift just to make sure nothing falls off on the 90 on the way home ! BTW ,we give EVERYBODY grief , Please don't take it seriously , and yes a LOT of us could be your father ! bob k
Could be you twisted the steering shaft , ( the shaft that comes out the bottom of the box) VERY common problem , But as others have said , you need to check the whole front end for damage ASAP , because something is not right and your MV is not safe to drive . PM me I live in Buffalo , not far...
I think I would be VERY concerned about ANY of the repair work they did . LET me understand this you took the truck in for freeze plugs , and they gave you back a vehicle that did not run ? WOW and you had to wait for the "MECHANIC" to get ready for a rerepair , ready for what ? Sounds like you...
Having a A3 with the CTIS system , I can tell you there is LOTS of maintenance with the seals and VERY VERY expensive wheel bearings . I am not sure if the person who designed the system is either a genius or a idiot ! You will have lots of o ring issues at the very least , which ARE a PITA to...
NOT to be a PITA , Just a little advise for the future , the bit about removeing a battery cable WITH the engine RUNNING is a big NO NO , plus it a LITTLE out of date , who ever told you that was talking about GENERATOR equiped vehicles , last generator equipped vehicle was about 50 years ago ...
When it came to the insurance pictures , my carrier told ME to take a few pictures of the vehicle and pole barn and send them in . I also put a value of $12,000 on my MV . I figured if something happens I can take my 12 grand and just bay something else green .bob k
IMO , For a rusted fuel tank , I like to have them coated with RENEWIT . The tank is acid cleaned , then they use a plastic type coating that after it dries is VERY good . Then they coat the outside with uncoating tha's a PITA to work with , but works well . Most shops that clean rads and gas...
LOL , That's the best part of owning a MV , no wax on wax off for these babies ! get a scratch , just get my rattle can of Rapco !! Drive the "car collectors" nuts . I like to park next to the nice Corvettes and Mustangs and watch them stress out !
LOL , why do a lot of people think every MV is a Jeep ? I checked out that link , they look good BLUE! My M37 has the Hard Top with the rectangular window , I installed the winch , but everything else is original and being it is a West Coast vehicle it has very little to no RUST . I think a...
Don't think it was ever a CIVILIAN vehicle , bumper appears original , I tend to lean towards the EOD or flight line vehicle . I also like the strata blue color on the MV . Don't see to many BLUE M37's . Wonder how many times people would ask "How come it's not OD"?
Ya , it could be anything when it comes to MV's , as they say if they could talk . It was a April 53 build , I was told it was AF and then went to the California NG , then GL sold it back in the late 70's early 80's . Who ever painted it OD , went to the trouble of removeing the bed so they...
