    M1028A3 Front Bumper w/ Winch

At the front, end of the frame the bumper is supporting the frame well. I am supporting the frame farther back where in my experience frame needs support.

    New project

Looks Great, a lot to work with. If you stay with the manual trans go with hydraulic clutch. I would start engine before I got to far, only to find out it is sour. Recovery points, look at bumper bolts, tight and original hardware or better. Frame at steering box, check for cracks, being...

    GEP 6.5NA replacement

The radiators are big to start with. As long as they are Clean and the coolant changed on maintenance schedule as for usage, then radiator will last a very long time, unless overheating happens, then stress issues may happen. Cylinder heads, at least on civi trucks that I have seen after...

1000 reasons to keep military vehicles on the road - please add your comment

Military Vehicles in civilian possession have been around as long as I can remember. Living near an Army Base, Jefferson Barracks, and a National Cemetery, the Military consciousness is very apparent in the community. Parades and Military reenactments are done every year with great...

    M1028A3 Front Bumper w/ Winch

I just looked at my truck, 4 in the morning and the dog treed a possum. Well I had to look what I did behind on frame and put 2x2 square tube behind the spring perch mount hot rivits across to the frame rail other side at same location to help with side stresses while recovery and help with...

    M1028A3 Front Bumper w/ Winch

First I dig that Truck, and being an A3 makes me want one or copy. The front recovery bumper is very tough, KOOL, and when finished give me a pound figure to compare to, please. My front already seems heavy with mine, K30 Silverado Dually, lifted, and big block. I am at 100 plus winch. I have...

Need some life/truck advice Re: M1031

Get an estimate to repair, or two. Call rental for a truck for a week rate, quote. You are not well, possible concussion and this is even more stress than needed. Then call your insurance, give them estimate, quote for rental, and that you may have possible health issues. Do not wait to long...

Respectfully suggest a Growler forum as well.

Lionel I have been here a short time and try to participate and although I am not right or wrong always I do stick my head in there and get wacked now and then. I just had a good laugh tho as it really is about that, participating. The Growlers when posted for sale I bet were looked at pretty...

Has this happened to anyone? (oil cooler lines)

I bought boxes of the wiring loom cover from jc whitney years ago, 15,20 and still use it on all kinds of areas that chafe. I happened on some industrial stuff at work that is heavier or thicker gage that is good for hydro lines. Not only for protection but make areas look cleaner more...

    Fake CUCV M1009

I agree that to find a diesel Blazer will be a vehicle hunt of epic proportion. I have seen 2, and they were 84 models. I am sure that you may find one in an area that has no real winter weather. Most by now have been converted to gasoline, or their service life has been met. You may find a...

Has this happened to anyone? (oil cooler lines)

Now would be a good time for everybody to check all areas for wires chaffing. Any time I am into servicing a machine or vehicle I take time to check for anything that may be loose or vibrating, air cleaner wing nuts, or may need a new clamp, nylon tie. You never know.

M37 ran fine for last years parades, this year, not so much

My experience with diesel fuel and gasoline is a love and now hate relationship. New fuels for on roadway use are refined with government regulations in place. Winter fuel, summer fuel, north, south, east, west fuel, all do and have a purpose. Fuels today are formulated for new vehicles and...

    747-AAC CONCEPT "Airborne Aircraft Carrier"

I believe that I read two of the micro fighters would be on CAP at all times. And you can bet that any aircraft recovered that is not at ready condition would be jettisoned. The Mothership would require a maintenance schedule also but is never discussed other than refuel. The day of stealth...

    747-AAC CONCEPT "Airborne Aircraft Carrier"

Very interesting indeed. It would seem that the tech involved was developed in one form or another on several aircraft over the next 35 years, perhaps longer. To me the concept that a crew of Airmen could recover, rearm, fuel, and Launch an aircraft at 30,000 feet in an at best pressurized...
