    Dual Voltage Alternator Over-Voltage

If you have batteries your voltage can't shoot up. They will delay the rise and possibly have other issues before you get to 40 volts. I would be suspicious of your gauge first.

    Head gasket thickness

0.040" is standard thickness. You need to measure your deck height to determine if the block has been decked. If so, you'll want to run the thicker gasket. It usually takes about 0.010" to clean up a deck. I see you're looking at Cometic gaskets. They require a much smoother sealing surface and...

    Bad day for an M52A1

"Broken/weak valve springs occur considerably more with age as the metal becomes fatigued" I would argue against this because springs are an item that get reused during a cylinder head reconditioning. If that is the case, fatigue is not a factor in their life expectancy. If a spring did fail...

    Block Crack Options

The only error you have made is that your repaired engine is probably going to out live the truck so you'll never get around to building that new one.

    Bad day for an M52A1

There is a word for that when parts from one cylinder trash another. It's called communication. It would be unusual for an engine with any significant runtime to drop valve due to a faulty keeper or valve spring. Those are both infant mortalities. Recession leads to valve drops on higher hour...

    Center mount Turbo M1008

Was able to attach it to the front battery tray, piece of cake. It has over an inch of clearance under the hood. I wish I had gone a hair higher because the duckbill drain touches the inner fender. Next I need to track down affordable smooth bore clamps. I'll probably use Band-It. There is no...

    Bad day for an M52A1

I would plan on pulling the pan. The piston and liner will certainly require replacement. In the past I have bought piston, liner, connecting rods loaded together in a pack that you just drop in. If you only have to do one cylinder the cost isn't so bad. If reman is available that's even better...

    Injection pump screen

The DB2 pump has been utilized by nearly every engine manufacturer and the design has survived from inception to obsolescence. In that time, I think you are the first person to have this complaint.

    Air Box Modifications

Speaking of dirt bikes. This is what happens when you run aftermarket air filters on a XR650R.

    Injection pump screen

Notice the dab of orange paint on the retaining screw? That's tamper evident paint. You're not supposed to be taking that part off the pump. Don't blame the engineers for this one. Do take the injection lines off. The engineers made it easy. They come off in pairs.

    M929 Hydraulic Pump Very Noisy

If it's jumpy there is air in the system. You'll need to run the cylinder through several full strokes to clear it out. The normal amount of noise is characteristic of the pump. Gear pumps are the noisiest, vane pumps are the quietest.

It's possibly an eductor for your air cleaner.

    Never had valve recession?

    Air Box Modifications

You do not want to use K&N filters in dusty off-road environments. They really aren't good for on-road either. If you want the best of the best, replace the entire filter housing with a Donaldson PowerCore housing.

A couple of electrical questions (taking power off the starter).

Tef-Gel is popular for corrosion protection in the marine industry. It's basically a grease so it won't dry or harden. You may not agree with the price tag. Dow Corning 734 is another commonly used option. It's an RTV silicone but it's flowable so you can pour it or paint it onto a surface and...

Leaking rear main seal on GMC 302

Keep in mind, if you're soaking your seal in a chemical that causes it to swell that is chemically deteriorating the seal.

    Center mount Turbo M1008

Guess I just got a bunk hose. Put a new one on and power steering works fine. I got the air filter routing figured out today. A Donaldson PowerCore D080056 fits nicely between the batteries. It's meant for a 50hp industrial off-road engine but these things have so much capacity I think it will...

    Cheap diesel proof/resistant paint

Diesel doesn't really have any effect on paint other than staining it. Use whatever you can get: alkyd polyurethane or epoxy. 2 part is better.

    Cheap centrifuge

If you put a volume of fuel in and leave it running it will certainly clean it. The stacked disks units have constant flow through them. A similar size will process 200 gallons per hour. Obviously you don't need that. I'm just a centrifuge operator, not an expert. Just throwing out some things...
