As for me, the solution is to dismount the wheel(s) and take to the tire shop. They do the hard work of changing out the tire, split rim or not. Then I can mount properly and at the correct torque.
Don't know what truck you have, but many big trucks have an equalizer line that transfers fuel between tanks to keep them at roughly equal volume. The manual should clarify.
Great info here, especially regards DOT 5.
As referenced above, the DOT 3 and 4 brake fluids are hygroscopic, i.e. they absorb moisture from the atmosphere. So, over time, water may intrude the brake system simply by removing the master cylinder cap to check the level. Or slightly worn boots or...
Thanks to all for your kind remarks.
As to Mr. Torisco's question: " A question...does this plug install on the front of the block next to the timing cover (to the right) when looking at it form the front of the engine?"
The answer is yes.
Before you get in too deep (assuming that you...
Well, here's kind of a nasty problem on a newly-rebuilt engine. The account below points up a number of issues--among them the crimes of assumptions and impersonations.
After installing the engine and all of the related plumbing (this is an original equipment restoration), I thought it'd be a...
I'm looking for lM37 power plant gas heater plumbing parts: aquastat, fittings on the block attached to the fuel pump, etc. Also, arctic cab retangular window frame.
Good photos, and the more, the better. I'm in the process of building up my cab after a total teardown.
I don't believe there is a stock routing diagram available, either for the vacuum system or the wiring behind the dash. These additional photos go a long way toward creating one. It seems...
The blower doesn't look like anything I've seen mounted on an M37. But that opinion is worth just what you paid for it.
Could it be part of a larger assembly for the stock hot water heater? Otherwise, it's anyone's guess.
Cool variant. Looks like you're having the fun that you ought to have.
I've used Midwest Military although John Bizal does not tolerate "dumb questions" very well. :censored:
Here are a few photos that may help. The photos attached are in order starting with the outside firewall. As Redleg130 indicated, the vacuum line runs through a grommet to the inside of the firewall.
The other photos show the black hose vacuum line running from right (where the line enters the...
If I understand what your asking, it's the windshield wiper hose running from the metal line attached to the fuel pump. The line enters the firewall and crosses along the inside of the firewall (supported by clips attached to the firewall) and attaches to the windshield wiper hinge tube which...
Fuel filter. Fuel filter. Auto correct malfunction? Gaseous intrusion of brain? Maybe consciousness consumed by working on M37 oil leak? Cause will remain forever a mystery.
I had a similar loss of prime problem in a John Deere diesel tractor. If the tractor had been running, it would start easily. The longer it sat without running, the longer it would take to start the next time.
Problem solved: the oil filter gasket was not seating against the canister. Removing...
Bulbs--i just received a supply of 24v bulbs--two different types--from an Amazon retailer. Ten bulbs for about ten bucks. This is a significant savings from the usual suppliers (who, of course, must maintain their own inventory).
Just search by the bulb number.
While I don't have a wire recommendation for you, I can offer some thoughts on my experience with similar issues.
My stock M37 had been under cover for most of its life. When beginning a rebuild last year, I discovered many problems with the wiring--most of it was age-related rot and cracking...
Maybe to wrap up all of these great remarks....my Dad told me decades ago, "Son, things are easy to buy!" He didn't have to elaborate about the other half of the transaction.
Good morning, congratulations, and welcome to the forum. There are people here with a great deal of knowledge and experience. Don't be shy about asking any questions.
I owned on of these models for several years until I decided to downsize a bit.
If you already have a CDL and are proficient...
Some other differences but unsure whether just production changes or formally part of the B1 variant:
Later models have a more rounded two part air cleaner; the older version has a 3 part system using 3 clamps with wing nuts to hold down the cover rather than a single nut in the center of the...
Good morning,
I recently replaced the brakes on my truck using off the shelf brake tools including brake spring pliers. Doubtless, tools vary in quality.
