After using the "unsubscribe from thread" tool, it would be nice if it took you to your subscribed thread list instead of back to the thread you just unsubscribed from.
I think like me, many users probably get on a "unsubscribe cleanup" once every week or two and it would speed up this process...
I've noticed the inside of various bodies and assemblies (steering knuckles, PTO, winch end assemblies, etc) seems to have the same reddish paint inside there. How important is it to repaint or touch that up? My assumption is that these bodies are generally filled with gear oil so not too...
I always thought that GOOD RC helicopters were very expensive and Airhogs were crap. Well, after my son was given an Airhogs for Christmas I was surprised at how well it controlled but he did manage to break it after a couple days. This lead me to doing some more reading online and I discovered...
Tried a search, came up empty.
On the truck I'm parting out, the hard fuel lines (injector lines) are pretty much shot. At the injector end they are not bad but at the hydraulic head most of the rubber boots are either split or off, and the bolts are rusty and so are the lines. When I try to...
Following the TM on a winch tear-down, I'm wondering the purpose of step #3 in this frame. "Punch stake marks on knob and end-frame assembly." Why would I do this? To index the knob to be installed back in the same orientation? Since the knob has a big flange that sticks out to one side (the...
I bought a new soft top on ebay and it does not have the plastic clip along the front edge nor the inserts for the side locks. Are these parts available anywhere?
Hmm, just re-read the auction and found this: "tops were made in 2005 in vinyle, and rope slides not the plastic slides that breaks"...
I'm tearing into my new PTO (new to me, that is) to fully service it before installing it on my truck. First two issues are these:
1) took the back cover off and found that one section of the casing around one bolt is broken off. It's a pie-shaped wedge of missing material that narrows as it...
Tried a search, came up empty. What size hex-head is needed for the deuce winch drain plugs? Running a tape measure across the opening looks like 11/16" but I'm thinking it may be 5/8"?
At the price of these, I'd rather not buy more than one!
I've seen a couple of deuces that had a vise mounted on the front bumper (they were winch trucks). I've always kinda thought mine should have one, since it was a maintenance truck (KYNG maintenance). Does anyone have pics of that? I don't recall exactly where it was mounted, if there was a...
Where the front of the fenders attach to the frame bracket, those 3 bolts have springs. Mine were badly rusted. I found springs on Macmaser-Carr that were the same size, but they are much weaker. My turn signal shakes and vibrates badly with them installed.
A tool and die shop near me can get...
Anybody have pics of current soft-top and cargo covers, color TAN, on OD-green Vietnam-era colored deuces?
I think this color combo would look good but I'll bet there are some examples already running around to see!
This thread is about the transmission issue I'm having with a winch deuce I recovered from Knox yesterday. The other thread is about the recovery but this one is strictly about the technical issue I'm having with the transmission.
What happened is, the truck will only drive backwards. The...
I bought a non-running winch deuce from Ft. Knox just to transfer the winch onto my existing deuce. The lot manager told me the only reason it was not running was because it had no slave receptacle and therefore could not be jumped. From previewing I also knew it had a sticking accelerator...
Figured I might as well start a thread since I now have at least three pics to include...but they are a almost 2 years apart!
I brought her home right around Christmas of 2009. The bumper and grill priming was done in June 2010. And the most recent one with the new fender on and side-panel...
As if I needed another lesson to not rush in to things...got new soft front brake lines in the mail today, went to take the old ones off. Put a wrench on the old line and braced the bracket with a screwdriver, finally got it moving but realized I was twisting the hard line. There's a big nut...
