There are a bunch of guys that pull camping trailers to Elephant Butte in southern New Mexico that can clue you in on towing. Several are gathering there this weekend if you feel like a road trip to check it out. Some info here...
Man, I am really bummed I will not be able to make this. I was already committed to another charity event here at home. I keep hearing the radio ad and it just keeps reminding me I can't make it. Hope you all have a great time. At least I can bump it back up.
I do not know what the cfm ratings are but I replaced a failed dual with a new single and I cannot tell the difference in operation between the two. Takes about the same time to go from zero to full pressure with either.
Mine is already loud enough without adding any more sound. Therefore, I recommend headphones. Two birds with one stone, hearing protection and tunes. A couple of headphone jacks in an inconspicuous place should do nicely. 2 cents
I like to roll up the sides and rear of the cargo cover but keep it up there for shade. Had it that way at some sand drags a few weeks ago and it turned into a great partywagon. Friends came out of the woodwork to climb aboard and enjoy the shade, cold drinks, plenty of seating, and the elevated...
I like the Trans Am. I have a GTO, Ventura, Catalina, Formula, and 56 GMC. extra points for the first to mention the connection of the GMC to the rest. Nice job on the lift gate.
I really like the convenience of the remote brake fluid reservoir I bought from the classifieds here. It makes checking the brake fluid before every drive a breeze.
The tube portions where the liquid level is can be touching each other. Truck movement or inclination would have a minimal, if any, effect. I would tape the tubing to a ruler so you see the inch differences. Additionally, I would think the absolute reading is not as important as a relative...
Since the pressure of vacuum you are measuring is in the inches-of-water range, you can make a gauge out of a section of clear plastic tubing shaped into a "U" and partially filled with colored water (no kinks). You can hang this from the windshield or top support rods. One end of the tube goes...
Posting for the far west Texans. Upcoming event in southern NM.:http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?106593-Deucin-For-a-Cure-at-Elephant-Butte-NM
Another thing to consider: The amount of power consumed by a centrifugal pump (or fan for that matter) is proportional to flow rate. Removing the thermostat ensures that the power required to pump the water is at max all the time because of the lack of restriction to flow. I work at a water...
I don't think you have to make sure it is all correct to register. I too have a deuce that I wanted to register as a USMC former military vehicle. The main thing is getting the the bumper number the way you want it because that will have to remain forever. What I gathered was that the Marine...
I believe they have to DOT certify if they know you are putting them on a roadworthy vehicle. I know it took them some time to certify replacement sets for musclecars such as my GTO. and they have limited applications available. I am sure they can technically handle it but not legally sell them...
I put steel braid hoses on mine. I posted pics but I can't find the thread right now. I looked for a local shop that could make up DOT certified hoses and took them one front wheel, rear wheel, and front axle to frame. They had them ready for me the next day. They make for great piece-of-mind.
Exactly. I aired down this past Sunday and the rim spun inside the tire causing a flat. It only has to spin a half-inch or so to cause issues. I ruined one tire because I did not catch it early and the second will need a new tube. By the way, These trucks run great off-road with flat rear tires...
