    Starter fluid canister

Wes, you are a walking parts catalog. One of many assets to this site, This is an easy one, sure, but it’s help like this that keeps some of us less informed guys on top of everything. Gives us a quick result when we do a search. I’d hate to try to list all the other guys who have helped me...

    M1101/M1102 Trailer Body Panels

I do not know the alloy. I didn’t think it would be identical to the Humvee. I did look at mine today and thought that fabing a piece of aluminum and riveting it in might be the best bet. Your mileage may vary.

    M101a3 trailer build

Nice job. I really enjoy these build threads, seeing people’s solutions to problems and different ideas. So many ways to skin a cat!

    M1101/M1102 Trailer Body Panels

Wow, really no easy way to fix that. And each method the desired quality outcome will hinge on the price you are willing to pay. Weld a skin on top of the damaged piece. Hard to say, since I can’t see the damage. You might have to turn the trailer up on it’s side to get a good weld. Take a...

Modified lunette hitch/draw bar on M101

Also, I replaced the stock caster, which had lost a lot of its bearings. It was bolted to the bottom of a flat foot. I’m not sure if this is normal for an 1101?? I put it in the chop saw and cut the foot off, and ordered a caster from etrailer that went over the tube. Just drill a hole in the...

Modified lunette hitch/draw bar on M101

I did a very similar change on my 1101. Took two 1/4” plates, about 12” wide I believe and bolted them through the existing holes and using the original bolts to secure them, then welded the plates to a 2.5” (3”+ in width) receiver hitch. To the bottom of the tongue. I have not yet yet removed...

Modified lunette hitch/draw bar on M101

No, it has two bolts that hold it sturdy inside the channel. They are rated for 12,000 lbs. pulling and a 1200 lb tongue weight. similar models are rated for up to 30k lbs I believe. I’d have to double check that 30k number but I think it’s accurate. Is that the area of concern? Both the...

Modified lunette hitch/draw bar on M101

Ha! That’s interesting. I’ll need to look at my others. I got all 4 out of RRAD. I painted one so I have no idea what unit unless I look at the paperwork and photos. Beautiful calm 30 degree NW Texas spring morning. Turkeys gobbling. Coyotes howling. Work happening.

    M925a2 Power Surge

Throttle sensor, snow, spring break, Hawaii ... you are running out of excuses. Whats next? “It’s summer” or “We don’t swap engines in my religion when the moon is full”. We look forward more to the banter than the actual test drive. Mahalo.

Modified lunette hitch/draw bar on M101

Loaded with material. These trailers are work horses! FYI, one reason I removed the factory surge brake system is because the brake lines were cut on this trailer. It appeared as though the problem could be with the drums themselves or it could be with the actual surge system on the tongue. The...

Modified lunette hitch/draw bar on M101

I needed the trailer to haul materials to the ranch for a remodel on the house. So, I had to build a hitch since I removed the original hitch. I removed it it because I like the trailers to run level. (Edit: And the brakes didn’t work) With 37’s on them, they don’t run anywhere close to level...

Your garage/barn/shipping crates must look like mine. “When did I buy that?” Its like Christmas every day!

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

SC, are you talking about the A2’s? Or the 250’s? I turned mine up and it made a big difference off the line. It was a danger trying to go from a stop into traffic. It was a slug! I blow smoke, but it’s worth it to get some movement.

Modified lunette hitch/draw bar on M101

I dont know what im going to do with it. I have a 101 that may need a jack leg. Let’s PM.

Modified lunette hitch/draw bar on M101

Yeah, incredible the difference. Well, I guess look at the springs for one. The 101 has a 1” thick stack of springs. The 105 ... Its been a while since I have seen one, but I know they must out weight the springs on the 101 by 5 times. My 101 shed about 65 lbs off the tongue today. Jeez! That...

Did the supply of M101A2s and 3s dry up??

I bought a few lots of NOS M105 beds out of OKC last year. Ready to mount to the frame! If I happen to have spare 105 frames laying around, which I don’t. The 105 bed is thick compared to a 101 bed. They are not the same beast. Just guessing, 11 ga or .125 on the 105 compared to the 101 bed at...
