Welcome from a fellow European from two neighboring countries (Czech Republic, Netherlands). Did you got the truck through a surplus sale or from a private party?
I had the same paperwork problems with my M51A2 from 1973 but in the end I got a Dutch-EU vehicle approval backdated to 1973 so the...
Ditto in spades. Quicker and cheaper to do everything in one go, including the flex lines. But first, change your Deuce to a dual brake system. Next time you will not have enough room for a slow brake - run out after a brake failure like that.
Now if the Locomotive was nominated it would be an easy score, hands down. Do we vote for the truck, the trailer, the complete rig or the locomotive as well??? :jumpin: Mind you, each and every of the components is impressive.
Actually, there is quite a difference with the real French 404 roadster
The full type looks like this
I have a pic (not digital) somewhere me as a much younger boy repairing one. If I find it I will post it.
Those drivers must have pretty stable nerves, driving like that on snowed-under tracks with a crossing coming up. Looks like most of the time the drivers do not see a thing with the snow blowing up in front of them.
[thumbzup]
You're right, a lot of info here already, take your picks before you get swamped with more.
I think you're doing a great job "above and beyond the call of duty" on this one helping out your daughter. If you and she do not mind, let us know what her ideas and final choices are.
Even...
We should not hi-jack this thread going into this discussion but .....
I can agree with that but it needs explanation. It is not that the US Safety standards on all points are much more stringent than the European. Often, its the opposite. Unfortunately, car makers already complain 50...
The J70 is the one I was talking about also. Actually, I learned something new, that is, that this line line never was introduced in the USA, where the focus was more on the comfort line. The USA had the J40 (old real jeep, I drove it from Harrisburg to Seattle in 1980) and the comfort lines J60...
Amen to that. Been there, done that (with a bicycle for Olga). She just said yes in the end to get me off her back, I did not realize that at the time. Not a good move on my side (I was still young).:)
I agree with most of what you say but unfortunately, those beasts are used as expensive as brand new trucks, which they outperform with a considerable margin. Regardless, if I had the money it would be a serious contender for a used Toyota Landcruiser or Hilux but for three things.
1)...
DEF/DPG became mandatory only around 2009, earlier cars would not have that equipment, and a well-maintained eight year old Landcruiser definitely is up to a lot of abuse.
However, I think forester made a lot of top remarks; copy it and put it on your beware list.
We experienced the same in...
Cannot edit, so another post. With the hubs lock-free I meant to say that they could be locked or released manually. One advantage of the smaller diesel engine is that you use less fuel. Not a cost topic but a range topic; you don't have to stop at a gas station every second day. A heavy 6...
One of your best options for this would be a Toyota Landcruiser. The real working horses, not the later "comfort line". I am a biologist myself and have been driving around in northern BC (Alaska Highway mile 422) from February until July, including during severe flooding.
In BC, we used a...
Oh Man, I can see my grand kids jumping on top of that thing and having a lot of fun with it. Or use it like inflatable raft for some water fun. Talking about a nice alternative for an inflatable chair.
Maybe even something for our Iron Curtain exhibition.
But boy, it sure will look very long.
Actually, all over Europe the standard more or less obligatory retirement at 65 is being raised. By the time I reach that border, it will be raised to 66 already.
Time is up, time to vote.
All of his have different reasons and emotions why we bother with these expensive toys and why we bother to vote here.
Some members cannot really afford an MV at all but put everything in it to them to keep them rolling.
Some have just enough balance of money...
For trucks, REOMIE in the Netherlands is still the best place in Europe, but you pay through the nose! Most of that stuff is slowly adapted for sale to Africa, in parts or whole. They have a lot of Willys jeep stuff as well, but Staman has more. However, never saw an CUCV in either place.
