I have access to metal fabrication and I am considering making some of the winch parts for the M135/M211.
If anyone has the under cab support, the pilot bearing mount and pilot bearing shield that they can either take pics and measurements of or loan out, I will make some duplicates.
Messing with deuces for the past few years has taught me to always check the grounds and clean them.
Put a new harness on, clean the grounds. Lights not working? Clean the grounds. Etc.
I wonder if they have moved the Remagen Bridge, 'Cross the Rhein With Dry Feet' sign to Benning?
My father and his squad had that sign painted and hung on the bridge tower.
My avatar was taken in a training session with the 1st Cav. Art. in 2002. We fired alongside the M109A5 in direct fire training. Our target was a M48 at about 1500 yds. Our shells bounced off the hull after exploding, of course. The M109a5 that I was allowed to fire hit the hull squarely...
The CSS Shenandoah sunk the New England whaling fleet.
The furthest south Confederate grave is in South Africa.
The last land battle was fought on the banks of the Rio Bravo (Rio Grande)
The furthest north land battle was in Vermont.
The farthest west CW land battle was at Picacho Peak, Az.
Battles were also fought in New Mexico, principally Glorietta Pass.
The farthest west and also the farthest north was in the Bering Strait.
I need some pics to compare with my M135.
I need the under hood fender support pics. This is the support bolted to a mount on the firewall. I believe mine are bent but I am not sure.
A parts vehicle seemed to have different shapes from mine but it was getting dark and I did not have time to...
I have been running the AVM lockout hubs since jatonka first offered them. No problems. None.
Looking at the reports from users of lockout hubs, all kinds, I have only found one report of a failure and that was a minor repair.
Do not fear the lockout hubs will not last!
Found this thread on Wednesday, Nov. 23. I have some of the heat shrink tape but it is not easy to use.
I began brushing on the liquid rubber/plastic insulation on the wiring on the M135. About three coats on wires that either had shed the rubber, or it was brittle, restored them nicely.
For...
When you replace the head gaskets, deck the heads and pressure test them. I changed the gaskets twice before I determined the head was cracked in the cylinder head ports, not at the deck.
No problems since. But, it will make you crazy.
My deuce had a defective relay that would not function after warming up the engine. Cooled down, it worked fine.
I found a NOS on eBay and removed the old relay. At that point I discovered that one of the nuts holding the wiring could not engage the screw threads at the cable end loops...
