What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Ouch! Misery loves company, but I hope it never happens again, to anyone! Good pointers, I'll usually do one hand when I know it's only one side secured, now I'll hold it no matter what...

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Its Edgewater, right outside of Denver. http://bluesnbbq.com Last year they had a GREAT young artist, who I swear (blasphemy intended) was Stevie Ray Vaughn incarnated. This was actually him in 2012 (he was 16). Funny video as in the first couple of seconds you'll hear a chick say "oh Sxxx...

What have you done to your MKT this week???

I drove the 5-ton down with the MKT today. We are doing a festival tomorrow. As we tried out, we are doing 5-ton crepes. Savory and sweet. Just bummed they won't let the truck hang out by the MKT, they would just sell themself. Wife worked with the health department, and besides several...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Drove the truck down to suburbia in prep for a festival with the MKT in tow. I was unchaining the tailgate to put stuff in on one side, then stood on the trailer hitch connection to get to the other side, and used the tailgate for support, but what I didn't know was the other side was already...

    Best 24 volt battery charger?

Had an issue with the NOCO seeing a wrong voltage on a well maintained battery, had to ship it back, they sent a new one with new firmware, plus all the pigtails. Stand up company, don't worry...

M103A3 - fluid leak around the brake chamber

Ok, it's all fixed. When I went to bleed, something was still off, and was leaking from the same spot, so I took it apart again. I found the issue. The washer in the end was jammed up against the outlet, bent in half. I replaced it with the new one, put it back together and painfully bled...

Driving a M925A2 Back From Auction

We did a 1700 mile, with a drained truck, which could have had almost everything wrong with it. Truck had minor things to deal with besides no fluids, and drove like a champ. The truck will most likely be fine, but the age of little things that might go wrong along the way have a high risk of...

M103A3 - fluid leak around the brake chamber

Link for those wondering about the sprayer. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?3229-Deuce-Power-Bleeder-R4x4-Style Looks like I have a buddy for tomorrow, anyone else on the manual process? All 4 bleed screws? Any order? Pump the brakes or slow push. The car method of pump, then...

M103A3 - fluid leak around the brake chamber

So I found that the reservoir was completely empty, so that's why it wasn't leaking before. I filled it up, and sure enough the leak came out the bottom of the air canister when I hit the brakes, but as Jason mentioned probably out the gasket. I rebuilt the plunger and the plastic cap, but keep...

M939 CTIS Reprogram, Anybody Done It?

I know you do, but this is still valuable for diagnostics and other people's visualization of what the stock controller is doing. I will probably learn something you need, so hang in there, I know you are going a different direction. Unless you know how the rest of the components talk you'll...

M939 CTIS Reprogram, Anybody Done It?

Ok peeps, I have two paths to figure this out. I got in a CAN board for an arduino, but doesn't have too many docs. It's probably just the J1939 wires, although I thought I figured out a way for that board to do J1708. I was at a conference over the weekend where someone presented a talk on...

Loose 939 spring mounts! Scary find!

None of my spring mounts were loose, but the nuts to the cab with the rubber mounts were loose (sort of above the springs) , I wouldn't expect them to be torqued, but how tight should those be? I don't even know what to search in the TM..

Loose 939 spring mounts! Scary find!

I "found" it in the TM, go figure. 150-170

Loose 939 spring mounts! Scary find!

I have a clunk that only happens when I pull out of my garages entrance that is a slight dip down to the right and the right side always clunks, I wonder is this is in play. Do we know what the nuts / bolts are supposed to be torqued to?

M939 CTIS Reprogram, Anybody Done It?

Well, the ECU works on the truck. Still need to figure out which protocol, 1798 or 1939, so need to get some resistors, and get the arduino code working to read it, and then try either one. Felt like getting truck stuff done instead of coding, so maybe next week. Btw, highway was flashing...

    M925a2 rear window stuck

I got it!!!!! Used a harbor freight orange dead blow and tapped on everything! I actually got it by hitting against the weatherstipping on the window, not the frame, in parallel with the window, not at it. Back and forth, and it finally moved. Prying didn't do anything. Both sides free...

Tapatalk requires an account - Picts now link elsewhere

This was not the behavior several months ago. They obviously changed the way things work with those buttons. I don't see any way to change it in the app, guess I use the attachment button and not the picture button. I also think the attachment button (using our site) limits the size of the...

Ok, jeep is using the picture icon, and the bunny is using attachment.

Tapatalk requires an account - Picts now link elsewhere

I got away with not having a Tapatalk account for a bit, but their new app required it to post pictures, which show up in the web via a link. I thought links were not a good way to post things. Tapatalk handles it seamless in the background when viewing, but the web definitely makes people...
