Going to John Winslow's MV parts yard

Enough is enough!! I was just getting on this thread to thank the SS members who visited with John and did some business with him. I spoke with John yesterday and he was glad to meet you all and was thankful for the business you gave him. Stop the bickering! It was a good day for MV owners...

Attention!! Please use caution when driving vehicles home from auction!

There is nothing wrong with driving a truck home if you do a thorough inspection, know how to drive said truck, bring along tools, spare parts, and help, have proper documentation and insurance as required for your state, and have a back-up plan in case something goes wrong on the trip home...

Attention!! Please use caution when driving vehicles home from auction!

Right. I was going to add something about exceptions to the rule just for that reason. There are some things that happen that none of us would expect to happen and those should be talked about. Thanks Ty.

Attention!! Please use caution when driving vehicles home from auction!

Hello all, Numerous threads have been brought to my attention lately. Unfortunately, the problem with these threads has been the description of illegal or unsafe actions while recovering a vehicle from an auction site. There have been tens of thousands of vehicles auctioned off from GL and...

    M936A2 air drier

I loved the Haldex on my truck. It worked fantastic. I never had any water in my tanks and personally I enjoy hearing the expelling air as I am cruising down the highway. It reminds me of driving a big rig. Dry air is a must for properly functioning ABS and CTIS. Just dumping the air tanks...

    M936A2 air drier

You are welcome, John. Do you have any pics of your truck? I'd love to see it as would all of the other 939-series fans on SS.

    M936A2 air drier

Do you have ABS? If so, then it should be a Haldex Pure Air Plus. I bought a rebuild kit for my 923A2 from NAPA. It came with a new dessicant filter, pressure relief valve, and some o-rings. If your truck is like my 925A2 being an A2, but no ABS, then it is a Stark air dryer. D&D bought...

1800 miles, no license plates, half a pack of smokes...

I can't believe the DMV people didn't know about the 1-trip permits, but you have to consider the source. VA has one-trip passes available online. WV trip permits were available from the State Police. I would have trusted a call to the CO State Police over the dingbats at the DMV. Wallew...

I wish you were close by too! With your experience and work ethic, we could finish the whole truck in about a week! :)

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Well, we are selling our house here in Franklin. I am in the midst of a career change and am not really sure where I am going to end up when it is all said and done. I'll have to keep working on it at John's in the meantime. I am hoping to have his paint/body guy, David, do some cutting...

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

More pics! It looks so much better with tires! I forgot to take a pic of the IP mounted so I had to lift the cover and snap on real quick before we left. We were filthy!!

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

I finally had a full day to work on the truck. My in-laws are in town for the 4th and my father-in-law volunteered for a work session. We loaded up the Excursion with all the needed parts and tools and then hooked up the trailer with the freshly mounted XL's. The day started off with the...

    Goodyear MV/T tire pickup

Bjorn, what is the clearance between the tire and the fuel tank with the original 16-20? I am guessing less than 2" by the way the MV/T hits. From what I can see in the one side-view, it looks like the suspension bogey similar to the rear of a cargo truck with dog bones and buggy leaves If...

    M939A2 Radiator Fan

It has been a long time since I drove my 923A2 so I don't remember the exact temperature, but I do remember it was pretty hot before it kicked on. A lot of times it wouldn't engage while I was driving down the road, but would start once I pulled over somewhere and idled for a bit. I would...

    Berg Tire

Good report Karl. What did they charge you for the 14.00's? I was quoted $180 for XL a year ago and another member said he got some almost new XL's for $100. Pretty big discrepancy there. So, when are you going to stop by and see me in Glen Allen. We could have LASIK'd your eyeballs for...

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

:) The smoke screen from the tire rubbing inside the fender was impressive. The car behind me almost ran off the road. Yikes!

Thanks SS!! 10 years and 11,000+ members!!

Thank you all very much for your comments! I really wanted to make the 10th year special by hosting some sort of national event, but personal stuff got in the way. Hopefully, I'll get something put together in the next few years. In the meantime, we have had some fantastic regional rallies...
