    M1097 6.5L 4 speed Thermostat - fan - issue question....

No water in oil...with the photo of it leaking coolant from around the fan, I guess the pump is leaking and the wind from fan is pulling coolant into the area around the shroud...pulling off the side panels to get a better look. But then again, there seems to be a good circulation going to and...

    M1097 6.5L 4 speed Thermostat - fan - issue question....

Yesterday we verified the temp when it was around 180. It corresponded with what the gauge said (180), so when it got hot today, we did not verify again as we know the gauge is working.

    M1097 6.5L 4 speed Thermostat - fan - issue question....

Looks like I'm getting good flow in the reservoir. No debris between radiators. Would it be a mistake to pull the thermostat out and run it without one just to check if there's any difference?

    M1097 6.5L 4 speed Thermostat - fan - issue question....

So after replacing the thermostatic switch, after driving 3 miles the temp went all the way up to 240+ with fan on? The coolant reservoir cap vented a bunch of coolant and I am back to square one...the humvee is overheating for some other reasons other than the switch, caddilac valve, and TDM.

    M1097 6.5L 4 speed Thermostat - fan - issue question....

Replaced the TDM. At this point, the temp comes up to around 195 while regular driving in just about 5 minutes from cold (driving between 20 and 55MPH) and the fan comes on. It stays on and temp climbs to around 215 and does not go any higher. Fan seems to keep temp from rising any further, but...

    M1097 6.5L 4 speed Thermostat - fan - issue question....

Engine temp 195 to 205. The coolant sending unit came off one of my other humvees...not chinese. We have not replaced the thermostat. We were inquiring about whether or not a stuck open thermostat would cause the clutch fan to remain on, and then we were asking about part numbers for a...

    M1097 6.5L 4 speed Thermostat - fan - issue question....

1996 M1097 runs great (we had previously flushed the radiator, added new coolant, and replaced the coolant temp sending unit), but after driving for just three miles (in 50 degree weather), fan came on and then did not shut off for the rest of the 7 mile trip. Later that day we ran it again and...
