I realize being a foot shorter isn't much...but the bed is huge size-wise, hangs out there on all 4 corners. Seems like without it and half the rear tires it would be quite a bit narrower and a couple thou lighter...?
So...been busy/lazy and haven't touched the deuce lately. Haven been researching and went and looked at tires. Looks like only 6 Hhalf decent 11.00-20s available locally but I just got another lead on more. Gotta decide on what to run for tires first so I can flip the hubs or not. Waffling...
I suspected as much, probably an LD (not LDT, T=Turbo) non turbo truck from an early A2. The non turbo engines smoked, were kinda low on power (but probably shouldn't be that slow) and they added turbos later with the A2s to clean up the smoke. I was with a convoy this weekend and the non turbo...
Does it have a turbo...? Any chance we could see pics of the engine, especially the tag on the passenger side? What year is the engine? Truck is a '62 or the new engine is a '62?
Not that big. We used to burn whole trailer loads of 6' root balls on NYE, and 200 plus count piles of Christmas trees. That's a big hot fire. Like stay 50 yards back or get your face burnt.
