    Newbie CB Radio Questions

I use the MX6707 base with my CB and agree with OPCOM. Do not try to modify the base. I ruined a good base trying it. I just used the stock MX6707 base with the matching antenna whip and manually tuned it to its lowest setting. Then I had to trim the matching antenna by 12"-14" to get a good...

Finally picked up my new M1008

I would leave it as its designed. They are good trucks and use it as you see fit. Run it for a while till you get to know its good or bad points than think about doing some mods. Make sure you do your PMs with the fluids and such and enjoy.

Gun Truck from Upstate New York to Columbus Georgia hard ride

John, Good luck with your trip. I wish had the time I would of loved to be the chase car. Is the wife second guessing the ride? Maybe you have to sweeten the pot a little. As the same as Howard offered, if you need a hand give me a shout. Doug

    Must do mods.

Don't worry about the mods till you get her home. See how drivable the truck is and fix as needed when needed. Some of these trucks are in excellent condition from the get go and you may find just minor repairs are needed. Just do your PMs as you don't always know when the fluids have been...

    Injection pump line leaking

Up-date. The vender I mentioned has injection lines for cylinders #s 1,2,6,8. You may be able to Google the other part #s and see what you come up with. If you only have one or two leaking you may find some used ones that are good.

    Injection pump line leaking

Check the vender below. I bought several from him, the rest of the lines I found at a Chevy dealership. Give them the part #s, When the dealer parts man tells you they are not available have him check their national inventory at other dealerships. By the way, The injector line part #s start at...

    New recovery, M1008

Nice truck. One suggestion, you may want to terminate that hornet nest in the wheel well in photo 5 before you get to far along.

    Injection pump line leaking

You can loosen the nut and retighten again to try to get it to reseat. But most likely it has a small crack at the flair. Inspect closely or remove it and have it checked at a diesel shop. The lines are subject to cracking at the flairs from vibration and rust especially if the small rubber...

    Injection pump line leaking

Most likely you will have to replace the injector line. They get brittle/thin and start leaking with age as was the case for me. I had 3 of them weeping and decided to replace all 8 lines while I had it apart. Good luck trying to find new lines as they stopped making them a few years back. One...

    M1009 Roadtrip July 2014

A good credit card- a handful of cash- and a full beer cooler. Not necessarily in that order. Don't worry about the small stuff. Enjoy your trip, these are good trucks and I wouldn't hesitate to take mine to California and back. If it breaks down just pull out the plastic and get it fixed. but...

US made Mil Veh manufacturers list needed...

Didn't Grandpa from Walton's mountain help the war effort by making military jeeps from old rum runners? No wait; I stand corrected, he sawed lumber for troop seats.
