Georgia on my mind: Czech Connection attending????
Several things have come together really nice for this to happen, but I am seriously considering trying to attend somehow this year.
The bad thing is, I now have to start read this thread from the beginning and also all the earlier media...
Doesn't this count like an infraction on the no-politics rule, invoking patriotic duty for a specific voting result????? :-?:wink:
Nice jeep, but we had a jeep last month also, so its time for something big again, don't ye know?
Both are worthy, but DaveP's truck is just sooo...
Sounds like a fun trip, would love to help out but am a wee bit too far away (like 5000 mile and once ocean). No hurry, take a day extra and avoid driving in the heat of the day (use it for siesta).
I voted for DaveP's truck. Earlier vote's had secondary but noble motives, and all deserved to win on their own merits. However, this is the truck where I go    from the first sight.
This is the truck the military never built but should have. I am an anti-bobber but this...
Maybe I am wrong, but I have the feeling that the 809 and 39 series are very close while the 900 series is really different and much more modern beast (air brakes, automatic, etc). They 900 series are flooding the auctions now and the 5-ton forum as well. A lot of 5-ton questions are related to...
Is it possible to "unvote" your age and then vote it in again with the older age? If patracy makes a unique auto-backup every half year or so, we can see how the population is greying or how much young blood is coming in?
(I know its more work for Patracy again, but is for a good cause).
Seems strange to see such big holes in a freshly painted DUKW. These holes are new spots breaking through and not noted before or was there a reason to ignore them for the moment while repainting? (Did not see/read every single post, so it might have been mentioned before).
That is why I did not believe all the stories that I could take my truck to the Czech Republic without papers. Too risky. Everybody says no problem until you show up on the doorstep and find out that you just imported 10 ton of scrap metal into the Czech Republic because they will not register...
Sorry to hear that, but when did you ever had the illusion that getting 392 as law will reduce bureaucracy? Be happy that its only a form update. We run into that here every few months, irritating like heck, but such is life.
But it does ruin your day and mood and leaves a bad aftertaste on...
A last signature change before going back to a more personal signature. Thought I would put it up as post as well to save it for SS-kind and as part of the process (and as jolt for my failing memory when I get old and the T-shirt is too dirty to read). My signature on July 1, 2014:
Senate...
Finally got it done, in time for the Bill 392 getting into effect.
My co-worker made the pics, we did not realize that in this light and background, the T-shirt and text are hard to see on an image, let alone a video.
I had to make some new pics of the truck for the Veteran Registration...
Rather than make a new thread as planned, I will just join here. When I bought the truck and later for painting, I power washed the underside of the block and frame in front, which is full of grease and spilled oil. Used a cold-water 100-110 bar (about 1500 PSI) hobby cleaner and both times I...
