I bought 3 elements for dryers (5500 watts each) and attached them to a blower fan. I can run a load of 72 amps at 240 volt with that

That conversion has nothing to do with frequency. That is driven directly from engine rpm. Were you getting 60 hz prior to the conversion? Is the manual throttle moving freely?

As the load is applied the motor will slow and the frequency will drop. These days the frequency is only hard on things containing motors. Sounds like you are within the amp range (might want to check with a proper ammeter as the on board units are not the most accurate).

Simple answer without schematics or diagrams is to follow the wiring from the head. Should have anywhere from 3 to 12 large leads and 2 small leads. Small should be the field.

Need to see if you are getting voltage to the field windings. A lot of them do a self flash. If they dont have that ability and are relying on the built up magnetism of the rotor then a flash may be needed to start the reaction.

Speaking strictly as a computer nerd, it sounds the internal cmos battery has gone bad and it probably has lost its boot configuration.
100% speculation here so dont quote me on it

Line conditioning is more important when the generator head has brushes. That and back then computers used to be dirty loads with fickle power requirements. These days they are fairly forgiving.

With the way its wound youll get 120 208 out of it. So all the 120 devices wont know the difference . The big things stove dryer etc will see a lower voltage but they are usually rated to work within that range.
If you need help with setup feel free to ping me.

The gauge reflects the level in the main tank. No fuel light is from the day tank. Theres some floats in there that may be giving you trouble.
Is your 8/3 with a ground? Make sure the bonding is properly setup (nothing to do with the shutdowns, just a very common mistake people make when...
