It would certainly save a lot of speculation if folks would read the original posting linked article all about this collection.

    V-100 Crew Member Vietnam 71-72

Rory, Due to the linkage involved, shifting the V-100 is not as easy as a truck, but is no big deal, either. There is a certain amount of play. But properly greased, adjusted, and maintained (good bushings), it is no problem. We have improved it further by using modern Heim bearings, too. I...

Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicles

Those are probably the new Off-Road MRAP. They are being built in PA and driven to a NY base and airlifted via C-17. The drive provides a good break-in.

    H1 vs. HMMWV?

The A2 is designed for heavier loads, much more than the H1. Lets compare an F-150 with an F-350.

    Help requested....

Save yourself a lot of grief and go directly to Fred Ropke in Crawfordsville. He is an expert on both the armor and firearms you mention. EVERYONE will have an opinion, but Fred is an expert and HONEST. The armor is very valuable, you need an expert you can trust. Ropkey Armor Museum

    SOCOM PINZ MOD info

In regards to the original mission for such a vehicle, the need did arise in Bosnia. The HMMWV is just too wide for many remote locations that are accustomed to small trucks/cars or even horse drawn wagons. Bridges, mountain trails, tunnels, etc. just will not handle anything that wide. The Type...

Anyone have one of these bad boys?

They were developed for towing light artillery through mud and snow (Soviet Union) and perform excellently in those conditions. Awesome actually. Later, used commonly for towing aircraft on soft grass airfields. Think of it as a tow vehicle.

That is certainly a 710M body. No question. Other than inboard brakes, not much different that stock.

    Gathering in Cincinnati

Have you also considered the Hamilton Antique Car Parade held every July? It has a military vehicle class and usually only a few Jeeps show up. This is one of the largest vintage car parades in the country. It would be cool to see a whole bunch of trucks. AntiqueCars Home Page

"I am so sick of people ruining everything becuase they cannot take responsibility for thier own actions" They're trying to do it again with the UTV's. But Yamaha just won a big victory regarding it's Rhino.

Cutting through 13mm Armor...and installing windows.

Now that you have clarified your interest is actually an OT-65, there is a new problem to consider: The OT-65 uses a Wilson Pre-select gearbox, similar to a Ferret, Fox, Saladin, and Saracen. These gearboxes work fine when well-adjusted and not abused. But when there are problems, there are...

Cutting through 13mm Armor...and installing windows.

Plasma will do it easily, but like Porshetech, I do not suggest it. It will damage the value, appearance, and history of the vehicle. And you will forever be explaining to people why you cut up a good piece of armor. I strongly suggest you get it and live with it awhile before such plans...

Nothing is going to happen to it. It was well established as a trust and is well covered.
