    poppop,s M37 restore thread

Thanks Dell I just checked the weeks forecast and looks like it will be to cold to paint until the end of the week. Its a shame to waste all the wet weather when we can't be in the field and now can't paint.

Hey Chad Its great to hear from you, I had not seen you post in a long time and was afraid you had dropped out. Yes, it has come a long way but was in great shape to work on. We had two inches of rain over the weekend so is to wet to work in the fields so I hope we can finish most of the...

    poppop,s M37 restore thread

Yesterday we wrapped up everything we had started painting on. Most of the small parts are painted and the fenders are primed both sides and finished on the back. They need some filling of rust pits before they are painted. When the weather warms back up and we get a few things done on the farm...

It was really to windy to paint today but I did not want to miss the window for recoat where we would have to scuff it up so we painted. Wind did not blow constatly just gusts. Primed a lot of small pieces first and them started shooting color. Man this paint layed down sweet. I was worried...

Eric, you have already met Him. That was when you, Lane, and Gimp followed De and I home from the Fl Rally and stayed a day on the Farm.

PB, you are correct, he does not have gloves on, we need to progress to those. He has a mask on because I insested but i know we need more than that. Eric, His name is Efrain Villegas and he has been with me on the Farm for 21 years. I do not memtion him much because I do not want to start...

    poppop,s M37 restore thread

PROGRESS, the rain quit, the wind laid and it was warm so we sprayed some paint today. The frame, engine, wheels and lockrings, driveshafts and some other parts have two coats of epoxy. We ran two guns for a while but the big air compressor did not like that. So I switched to a smaller...

    Possible purchase of an m151A1

This is just my opinion so others may vary. That seems a little steep to me for a cut 151. If everything else is in excellent condition it may be worth it but I have seen uncut and restored start at $10500.00 and up.

    Possible purchase of an m151A1

You did not say what the asking price was so will just have to speculate. It looks really sound on the outside and appears to be in good shape. If its not rotted underneath I have seen ones in worse exterior shape bring $4000.00.

Well it was to windy to even spray upwind today but we did sandblast. Everything is finished except five small pieces we missed and the bed. Ran out of sand at 5:00. Blasting opened up several small pinholes in the tailgate so I welded them up. Pictures show the frame finished, my helper...

Made some progress today. The weather is suppossed to be nice the next several days so decided to blast the frame. Ready to start at 3:00 and the compressor would not start. Got it started at 5:00 and by 7:00 it is 75% done. It is cleaning up easy, almost can't move the nozzle fast enough...

    Help with Death Shake/Wobble

After reading this thread I took apart the front axle on my 83 chevy one ton 4x4 which we had not driven much in a couple years because of how bad the front end shook. I did not know what else to do after changing the tires and that did no good. It was completely worn out with plastic bushings...

Could not stand it any longer, It warmed up but not enough to paint. So I decided to blast all the mounting brackets that attach to the frame. We got most of them done as well as four wheeles and one lock ring. Blasting went extremly well with no water problems. These parts are under cover...

To cold and windy today to sandblast or paint. Washed the cab so it will be ready for paint and found a couple spots that needed a little putty so applied that and sanded. It is done now for sure, I think. Rounded up the winch pieces and pressure washed them so can maybe see what seals and...
