Steve, I just read through this for the first time and you are doing an outstanding job. I have no experience with these transmissions but even I can understand their operation through your very well worded explanation. Thank you for all the effort you are putting into this. It will help a...
Go to an auto paint supply store and get wet or dry paper. Some auto parts stores carry it also. It holds up a lot better and wet sanding keeps the paper clean so it sands better longer.
What hoop means is you have made the last and fatal step in this green disease. You went and bought one so now there is no return to normal and nobody can own just one. I bought one little M151A1 Jeep and now own 3 5 ton trucks. 4 Dueces, 3 m105 trailers, 1 101 trailer and a lubrication...
Gimp, I had a cotton picker do that one time. It would not even hit on ether. The mechanic I called decided the rings were so dry from sitting all year the compression was weak. He sprayed wd40 I think into the intake while spinning the motor. It started and ran fine the rest of the season.
I think the five tons only come with a sprague t-case. Air shifts it from forward to reverse and I think it only ingages forward in first gear. Not sure about that.
I use group 24's in all my trucks but I really like the stainless thread stud type. They are so much earsier to work with and a lot better connection. Also less corroision and easier to clean. Most Mv's have the bolt on clamp so just remove the clamp and bolt the cable straight to the battery...
As Kenny said they don't like to steer and I would think with less weight it would be harder to keep the wheels going the right way. You could tie the wheels straight and drag it around corners. The towing vehicle is very importent if something goes wrong. I had a right front tire blow...
Phil, I don't understand your comment. Gimpy was one of the great guys I met at that Rally. He and citizensoldier, Lane and lanes Mom and another member followed me home, spent the night on the floor in my house, and spent the next day touring junkyards , my farm, and the cotton gin I am part...
I have been keeping up on this and I think it is time for my useless 2 cents worth. Mike started this rally and since I am having 40 antique tractors here at my place Saturday and 100 people i know what it takes to put on an event. I came to the Fl Rally a couple years ago and had a blast and...
Reminds me of what my friend said about owning his own boat. It gave him 2 of the happest days of his life, the day he brought her home, and the day he saw her leave.
It is multi-fuel all the time. They have a fuel density compensator that adjusts fuel flow for different viscosity fuels and most of these have been bypassed but it is still a multifuel engine capable of burning a variaty of fuels.
I inquired about them and they are pretty rough. More work and expense that I want to go into. Certainly can be brought back with enough $$$$. Reminds me of something I heard about antique tractor collectors. There are two kinds, the ones that buy a complete running unit and dress it up...
Tigger, all you have to do is show up and be calm, tell it the way it happened and stay cool. Don't show anger and just state the facts. Those kids are there to back you up, but you can be one more example to them. Show them how a real man handles what happened to you. You did the right...
