Can you legally own a functional T34?

some pics The one functional T34 and two T 34 based tracks "for heavy work", probably wreckers or bridge layers. And the restored wrecker

Can you legally own a functional T34?

I don’t know about you, but this guy certainly can and does. The shield in front of his house certainly is no joke.:drool: :jumpin::jumpin: The guy has one operational T34, one partly stripped T34 for restoring, two engineers tracks based upon the T34, (maybe recovery or...

    5-ton repair wiki

Thanks to some helpful members with a better memory, found back some very useful threads. What I would like to do now is following. In the 5- ton section (or 5-ton and deuce,) make a sticky or wiki section with repair tricks. Let’s copy those threads there. Then I will re-read them...

    previous thread on brake repair

There are too many posts here. Somewhere last autumn (September - November?) somebody posted a series of very good pics on taking apart and replacing or repairing the brakes on his truck. Very accurate description and pics. Forgot to bookmark that and now am trying to find that thread back...

pullin big pines down with the M52A2

It's the same with a small excavator we bought of the same guys. They got it cheap to begin with, just used it up without too much attention, care, or money spend on it. When it stops, abandon it. .... or find a sucker who's crazy enough to take them of your hands - which I did

I knew I had some better pictures of the damage somewhere.

pullin big pines down with the M52A2

Great pics and great fun. This is how the previous owner wrecked the winch cable and cable guider: he used the winch cable in stead of the chains, and he got very close to the tree and then gave her **** backwards on a long cable :cookoo:. Would not want to be close when that snapped...

Thanks for the prices and quick replies, keep them coming. I already contacted some providers to ask for further details.

    5th wheel assembly

Actually, mine will hopefully be both.

    5th wheel assembly

If I remember correct, bolting the assembly with this dam-wand profile spacer plate straight on top of the frame would give me around 48''. Let me get this correct. I should cut and remove the rivets in the top flange of the frame rails and use those holes to bolt the spacer plate onto? I just...

    5th wheel assembly

Thanks, great pics. What is clear here also is that the side rail actually is not very high and the bolts or rivets connecting side rail to the frame are close to the top of the vertical body of the frame -see your second picture. That would be needed in my case as well: too many other...

    Some prices for parts

I presume the original soft covers and also the troop carrier covers are/were made of heavy-duty canvas? I am asking because the town where the truck is now has a few companies who can make covers in any design you give them. I will ask them next week, but like to know what amounts we are...

    5th wheel assembly

I am making a tractor out of our dump truck. I have all the stuff ready. Unexpected question and maybe problem now. The standard 5-ton M39 army tractors have the 5th wheel plate connected directly to the top flange (right word?) of the frame. They also have a spacer plate between the assembly...

M51A2 dump truck Troop Carrier Kit

We are trying to get our truck back to original and want to use and display it also as troop carrier. Does anybody has pictures of a dump truck used as troop carrier we could use for our exhibition? The dump truck has a shorter base and dump bed than the standard cargo truck - troop...

    Some prices for parts

Hibernation is over and I am gearing up to get back to work on the truck (1973 M51A2). Just trying to compare some prices. Most important: how much would a reliable used steering house (Ross Hydrapower type) would set me back, anybody has one laying around? How much for a good used original...

    tatra 813 new owner

strange kolos or so Saw this on a very local rural funfair (kermis) last week. They said it was a special version of the Tatra, with two steering axles but only one rear axle. Thought I share it with you.

Which is the Hardest Bolt or Nut to remove from the Deuce?

Anybody ever use railroad to get GL buy home

I am looking into a 600 mile transport crossing three countries here in Europe. In Europe, railroads use a lot of container cars. Somebody suggested me to buy or rent an old container. An M35 or M39 fits into it and you can strapp the truck into it. They will pick up the container, get it onto...

    Auction closing actions

I was watching for the first time some of the auction action on the GL website. Noticed that two hours after the close, the prices from the weblist do not tally with the actual final bids given in the vehicle lot details? For example, I was looking at the three 920s up for auction tonight...
