    Good Trade?

I have neither a deuce or a Hummvee but I know that hummvee's are worth three times what a deuce is worth. I would go for it and if you don't like it then sell it for enough to just buy a bobbed deuce. Make SURE, Absolutely, Positively that it has a good, transferable title. Rick

38TH Annual East Coast MV Rally 2011

I have been a judge for the past couple of years and got a plaque for the first year but not last year. I am a little bummed because due to a lack of judges this past year (Carl had to leave for an emergency) I really got no time to wander the grounds. It may have just been an oversight. Rick

ok guys i need some battery help with a m1008

And very liberally dust the engine compartment with baking soda to neutralize the acid. Do thin until it stops foaming otherwise you will find out just how fast a Chevy can rust! Rick

    Th400 auto trans

A lot of people get high and low mixed up when describing gears. I think what you are talking about is how high the rpm is on the road. That truck will have 4:56 gears in the rear. It has nothing to do with the transmission. You can have the gear ratio changed but it will have to be done to...

    m101A1 / MEP002A Recovery NJ/PA

That gunk in the tank looks just like mine except mine was more like an inch thick! Xylene will cut that real nice, carb cleaner and Safety Kleen just make it stickier!!! Make sure you get the screens on the pumps and the filters. Rick

    Problem this morning, need help.

I would just like to add that doing the recomended "must do's" in the FAQ section is the way to go. While i did replace the starter relay (AC40), and the GPR. I did not clean any of the contacts, nor did i check or replace any fuses. I would say if I bought another one of these, I would go...

1st time: EUC 55 days, ROAD TRIP help request

I am looking at your departure time and appointment times and I think you are cutting it pretty close. 5 hours from RI. to Ft. dix middle of the week after a holiday, I don't know. But you only gave yourself 5 hours to Mechanicsburg and that is if you are out of Dix without problem. I don't...

M151 new exaust gasket kits--do they work?

151 and most A1's were designed to have a metal to metal fit on the exhaust manifold. If you use a gaskit kit on these you will usually end up with a intake manifold leak. The late style heavy duty head has more clearance around the exhaust manifold and is designed to use the gasket. The way to...

    Early M151 Question

Sarge, It looks like a lot of rust on the rear floor, I would seriously check out the rails under that. It looks like you are missing some of the rear seat hardware. 1964 was a transition year from the 151 to the A1 so there could be traces of both. Do you have the oval, pop out floor drains...

Fantastic. Now before you go digging in the wiring for the lights just make sure the service light switch is in the up position. You have to pull out and up. Rick

Sounds like good deal to me, this way you have a new one and a name to go with it unlike a store bought one. Rick

    Problem this morning, need help.

No matter what the starter will need to be rebuilt, just make sure they are aware that it is 24 volt.

    Problem this morning, need help.

I am aware of which is which, I just wanted to verify what had been done. I sounds like a lot of people are talking about the civilian system which does not have a relay. Also the starter should not be turning without the bendix being engaged because of the contacts in the solenoid not making...

When you say starter relay are you talking about the one under the dash or the one mounted on the starter? Rick

    Problem this morning, need help.

Sorry, been tied up at work and home. Another tidbit to think of. If you live close to a military base than a lot of the bigger parts stores will carry some of the more common parts for military vehicles. I have a NAPA that sells parts to the military all the time. As a matter of fact he sells...
