Just take the frame to the glass shop. They put it into the frame for less than $50 here. I took out the old glass, cleaned and painted the frame first.
I do not believe correctly installing the brace will correct the problems with the cab at this point. My comment about the brace being installed was in response to your post about putting a M2HB on the truck.
I rather suspect that welding and adding some new bracing will cure the problem now...
OK, AVM is an elitist corporation who did not listen to Gerhard's suggestions, although Gerhard does not claim to a mechanical engineer. So, by comparison of two different designs he attempts to disparage the company with whom he has a personal vendetta.
While I prefer my Para Carry6 it is...
The problem with Gerhard's posts are more than obvious. There are differences between the hubs specifications. Measuring here and there and finding a difference has no meaning. Other than to claim some difference between the hubs, what is he showing? Just differences which are obviously...
I just love the 'girly' references when comparing inanimate objects. However, you are absolutely correct about the contact pattern on gears. But, the gee whiz drawing by Gerhard showing gear pattern contact is exaggerated, while your concern about the contact pattern is well founded, who says...
Personally, I do not like product disparagement on this website. I do not know what the critical engagement surface area of the splines is, nor do I know why they differ. You do not either. They just do. Does it matter? What if the strength is more than enough in either case? No difference...
Nothing like inventing problems that are not present. Back in my sales days it was called 'fly specking' your competitors product. You sought to magnify differences with 'seeology' rather than any substantive differences in performance.
I think this thread is self apparent as product...
As I previously noted, John Tennis must be selling a lot of AVM hubs to merit this kind of excitement. Fairly obviously, he has a value driven product as well as a good reputation for innovation and service. That his competitors have to go to work to sell their products now is not unexpected...
Had I been doing the job, I would have used heat. However, my novice mechanic son was active in the matter.
I got the clean up job, he finished installing the pull cable release system quite nicely. You have to learn somewhere, this was his time. :D
OK, got it fixed. Used yellobronc's suggestion. Worked out fine. I used the 7/16 drill to remove most of the material and the tap with anti-seize on it. It took a dozen or more in and outs to get it cleaned.
I am taking the hammer away from David tonight!
And, I used your axle in the rear axle disconnect on my M35 and thought it an impressive piece. I would recommend it to any all needing to do the disconnect or have a much beefier axle.
Works fine with the AVM hub.
And, I have been both in manufacturing and sales. Without testing and comparative testing your opinion and mine have exactly the same value. But, having been involved in sales for many years, while practicing law, some sell steak and some sell sizzle. Here, without more information, sizzle is...
I had planned on using a tap yesterday. But, however, I was also working on the M135 replacing the tail gate steps. Two bolts had to be ground out. I used the four inch cutting blade. On looking down I noticed that I had set my shirt on fire. My wife decided that was enough for the...
I had thought of that. I suppose buying a tap is much easier and cheaper than buying another and a lot easier to fix than changing it out.
I think I will try that as a last resort. If it works, OK, and if not I am not in worse shape than now.
