The high compression hurts overall efficiency because it results in more frictional losses and more blow-by. It also causes higher peak cylinder pressures which stresses the engine. If you look at modern engines, they have lowered the compression ratio and increased the boost. The engine...
The question is are they actually selling for those crazy prices. I have noticed wild variations in prices on ebay. Water pumps range from $50 to $245 (yes, people are buying the expensive ones). One person is asking $129 for the screw in block heater; Amazon is $32. $8500 for a new multifuel.
I'd suggest hydraulic but there is a new air assist on that auction site for $1400 +$42 shipping. I'd use that as bargaining for your local power steering kit.
My heads didn't have these plugs. Another strange thing was that there were cast-in bridges going front to rear at the top of each cylinder adjacent to the pushrods. It appears that these bridges were crudely cut out using a torch. Metal splatter was still in the cylinder heads going down the...
AFAIK, the 12pt bolts have the same torque spec. We really aren't talking about increased clamp load as being a requirement. Instead, what we need is better fatigue resistance.
Diesels have new inserts installed all the time during an in-frame overhaul and aren't resized. Why would the multi be any different? If the new bolts are tightened to the same torque, what has changed?
If you do a google image search for: white 2-135, 2-155 farm tractor diesel injectors WORK GREAT! or white 2-135, 2-155 farm tractor diesel injection pump WORKS GREAT! you will find pictures from apparently expired ebay auctions showing what look exactly like mulfituel injectors and the...
Trying to find a picture of a tractor injector. Found a pic of a tractor connecting rod here: http://www.wengers.com/parts/Farm-Tractor-Parts/White/2-155/2-155/Engine-Diesel/Sub-Component/CONNECTING-ROD/01-403807851.htm
This thread suggests that White 2150 had a MM 585 engine, not Hercules: http://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=103767&DisplayType=flat&setCookie=1
I wonder if they sent the wrong part. The pics in this thread sure look like should have the same injectors: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?73830-Oliver-2150-with-multifuel
As opposed to stealing, I'd prefer to keep folks from dumping crap into the engine, radiator, power steering reservoir, etc. I like the idea of a hood lock to keep curious fingers out.
