Front axle brake shoes wear out faster than rear axle brake shoes?

But, think about it. All brake shoes in a common hydraulic system press on the drum with the same force and all wheels turn at approximately the same speed. They will, then, wear out at the same rate. Weight transfer doesn't affect any of the aforementioned parameters. Weight transfer...

Front axle brake shoes wear out faster than rear axle brake shoes?

Part numbers and sources would be greatly appreciated.

Where do "new" air packs come from?

My airpak was made in Korea (according to the vendor) but I don't remember where I bought it from.

Another source for the new multifuel head gaskets

Sure, but is anyone buying those engine lines? I would bet that they are circling the drain. What most may not realize is that the feds have made diesel engine production and sales VERY expensive. I have a good friend who is a disty for a line of diesel engines and you wouldn't believe that...

Another source for the new multifuel head gaskets

There are several places which will make custom gaskets. Compared to buying from an OEM, it has just gotten a little more complicated and a little more expensive. Mahle recommended Olson's Gaskets http://www.olsonsgaskets.com/ but these folks seem to have better capabilities...

Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

Given the fact that the aftermarket is abandoning this engine (see the head gasket thread), gaskets and other hard parts will become increasingly hard to find. Don't reinvent the wheel. Put your money into something with better engineering, better parts support, more horsepower potential, and...

Another source for the new multifuel head gaskets

I contacted Mahle last night and had a response this morning confirming that this gasket has been discontinued. A few vendors still list this gasket and I bought two sets.

Another source for the new multifuel head gaskets

OK... bad news and worse news. I tired to order a set of gaskets and was informed that they are not in stock, there is no stock at any Clevite warehouses, AND that they are discontinued. I checked a few other vendors who also list it as "discontinued".

    24v inline fuel pump

I found that it was possible to remove the tank straps and slide the tank away from the frame which gave enough room to swap out the pump.

Another source for the new multifuel head gaskets

The source originally listed in this thread raised their prices. I found another place that has them for $28: https://www.starperf.com/head-gaskets/clevite-5818-cylinder-head-gasket-hercules-d4800/?mobile=0

Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

Look at the last post in this thread http://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/viewtopic.php?t=436351 " The nozzle in the 585 MM has 1 large hole to shoot into the deep piston bowl, while the Hercules has 1 large hole and a small one." Isn't this the same as the multifuel...

Why do you say it doesn't have the swirl design?

Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

Why could it go one way but not the other? They are virtually the same engine.

Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

This thread talks about turning up the pump on the tractor engines to get more horsepower: http://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=320653&DisplayType=nested&setCookie=1 Head studs being a problem were mentioned...

Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

Why not? The tractor engines often get the multifuel pistons to facilitate easier starting. See this thread:http://www.yesterdaystractors.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=oliver&th=116171%253E http://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/viewtopic.php?t=603047

Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

Not having any idea of the resulting outcome, it would be an expensive test. If you have the money to play around, probably better to try something newer like a DT360 or 5.9 cummins. Better oem and aftermarket support.

Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

Based on the TMs, the LDS465-1/A has 175 HP. Hardly seems worth $2500 for the difference which can easily be made up with a tweak to the LDT's injection pump.

Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

Turn up the fuel on an LDT; same thing and you can save $2500. It is only 40 or so HP difference.
