NO WAY a front deuce winch weighs 500lbs! Me & my buddy lifted 2 of them into the back of my F150. Maybe the whole setup.....winch, cable, chain, bumper extensions, pto staft, pto, linkage ALL TOGETHER miiiiiiiiiight weigh that much. 2cents

You can check the control box yourself.....it is very easy to do. All you need to do is turn the accessory power "ON" & if you hear buzzing.....it works. If there is no buzzing, it does not work. 2cents

It comes from being overweight on bridges. The main bridges into my town are 38 ton max & a few months back a LOCAL town cop followed a crane over both of them......pulled it over & called the DOT guys.....they wrote the dude a $80,000 ticket!!!!

If all else fails, you can always get a towtruck to go in & yank them both. 2cents
