Try this site. Vern has been at it for a long time and is somewhat familiar with military vehicles as well as the older willys varieties.
Generator Polarization
Vern is a funny fellow also. I think you will find your answer here.
Wisconsin is one place where the registration of these types of vehicles is pretty difficult.
There are others. NY is not all that bad but without getting political suffice it to say that there are those who do not like any vehicles that pollute and the older diesels are not smoke free...
That is an old style air pack. The problem with making one with copper is the bending. It is extremely hard to bend tubing of that size so you will end up using 2 elbows and have to fit the lengths carefully. If it were me, I would get another J Tube. I had one from an airpack that could not be...
First and foremost, you need to do a primary and secondary brake adjustment on your brake shoes. While this is a pain and you need to remove the wheels to do this, it is an essential part of proper PCMS on the deuce brake system.
After getting your brakes properly adjusted, then check your...
There is an older painting manual at Jatonks's site. Not sure if it will have what you are looking for.

Here is the link to the page
JATONKA's M35 TM download page
It is about 2/3rds of the way down.
I have a S280 shelter on my truck. It takes bit to get to road speed which for me is 51-53 MPH. I do not cruise at an RPM any higher than that. I have the LDS and bit more horsepower so I would imagine an LDT will have a little less in terms of power but empty it should be able to pull...
I found this manual that is specifically for the winch on the 5 ton. Maybe this will be helpful.

Turn the power on.
Crack the drain on the primary and make sure you have fuel flow.
If you have fuel flow, I would try cracking the fitting on the plastic return line on Injector #6. Let this run untill the air burbles out.
Once you have a solid flow you will be able to start the truck...
The can has the same footprint as a 50 cal ammo box and to be honest are not all that tough as compared to the 20MM cans.
I got a good price on the ones I bought and I do a fair amount of business with thi store which always makes a difference.
I have a S280 on the bqack of my deuce setup as...
Your front parking brake cable has partially broken. In essence it is acting like a rubber band.
The check is to cllamp the cable against a bracket after it emerges from the front cable housing and then pull on the rear section and watch the action in the equalizer where the two rear cables...
Check the drag link on the steering first and then the tie rod ends.
You will need a helper (Soldier 'B' in the Technical Manuals) to do this.
Have your helper rock the steering wheel back and forth and see how much lpay there is in each joint. If you can move the wheel and the arm on the...
I would bet on the axle shaft u joints are frozen, or at least one is. Even with the hubs turned out the axle shaft will spin some as you drive down the road. If the u joint is froznen in one axis it will bind when that axis is lined the wrong way.
It is very hard to tell if this is...
My suburban 1991 3/4 ton 4x4 came stock with a 14 bolt with a locking differential. This is the highest GVW combination that the Suburban was offered in that year. This is the old style as the 1992 were the newer body style and drivetrain.
My 1985 3/4 was the same. The nice thing about the...
Hemmings, or Autotrader using a nationwide search. I also believe there are some owners forums where they may have classified listings. I am under the impression you are looking for the civilian version.
way too pricey
"they were asking $1200 for front and $600 for back "
That is a lot of money for essentially junk yard parts.
There has to be a U-Pullit down there somewhere.
Suburban axles in the late 80s and up to 91 typically have lockers or limited slip in the back. I am on my third...
When I bleed brakes I do not use the vent line until I am done. I also use the time tested method of using a hose on the bleeder with the other end in a bottle with BFS in it with the end under the surface and I pump the pedal a couple of times and then add more to the master.
This is the one...
