I agree with Beetle for the most part. The Deuce is NOT for speed.
I'm just trying to decide if it's worth it to "hop it up" or if I should just live with 20mph up the highway.
My ol' 57 Willy's wagon had a bumper sticker on it I'll have to find/duplicate:
"I may be slow, but I'm ahead of you!"
Where is a good place to get the conversion?
If I find someone who can ship parcel post, it makes things affordable. UPS likes to rape us around here....
Just the manual shift T-case.
I doubt this ol' beast has a thermostat. Never seen the gauge hit over 165 even on a hot summer day up hill 2000 RPM at 30 mph
I could probably get away with losing the fan, but I don't think it'd like me if I let it idle anywhere (winter or summer)
Since the...
Ok. Maybe not "fast".
But I'd like to climb a 7-9% in 4th and maintain around 45.
So I'm asking (begging) for economicly feasible power tips.

Yeah, I'm looking for a turbo around here as we type....

RE: Impulse Duece
The same issuse (Nov 06) has some cool write ups on M715s.
Been a while since I grabbed a magazine off the rack and flipped through it. Funny how it was a magazine that would seem filled with articles about me!
I've had two people call and ask me if I had an alias or if I...
Well, id made me feel better!!!
Grab a copy of the November 06 issuse of JP Magazine and check out the article on the Duece that editor John Cappa bought off a Steel Soldiers member.
Everyone asks me why I bought mine, and my response is pretty much the same as his - Because it was there and so...
That's what it sounds like.
Mine only had one arm on it since I got it, and I didn't look too hard for another until this summer while in the woods a branch reached down and plucked the blade from the arm and flung it into oblivian. Then began the search for a blade that would mate to the...
Pic #3 shows what I think is a standard shaft. The wiper arm you took off attaches in a way I haven't seen - pehaps it was an aftermarket replacement or something. The standard arms go onto that shaft and are held in place with a nut that threads onto the end of the shaft where it protrudes...
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Wiper Arm Help
I ran through this this summer.
That NAPA 60-750 arm and blade 60-1033 was about the closest they could come. Those are Jeep parts, but pretty close. None of the tapered inserts were exact - I had to use the one with a set screw and enlarge the hole for the...
Any favorite additives for a rig that has been parked with a 1/4 tank for about 20years? I filled it up and ran it out, and it runs pretty good. Should I even bother looking for something to run though the system to clean out any gums or varnishes?
