Story of my life too. I tossed so many things in the move last year. It'll be the better part of this year till i can start reorganizing after construction is completed. Then I'll know all the things that slipped through my fingers.
Thanks for looking though(y)
Totally hear you on the extra cab. Even just having enough room to fit a seat that reclines a bit is gold. Watch out for front/rear bumper height and headlight height. They will screw you at inspection time.
I just did the vehicle records search for my new deuce this afternoon. They've changed...
There are one way checks at the inlets of the primary and secondary tanks. The symbols with the arrows. I'd like to see the diagrams of the what and why in your US regs.
The only other system common up here is the L75 off road system that has a third tank that in the event of a faliure, acts to...
I was reading through this and saw that youre planning on using a gen 1 dodge cab. This is good and bad. You can register it under the dodge vin easily, but there is no way to up the gvw. Youre limited to the cab data plate or vin number break down. You can pay autoplan to iinsure it for 1...
Next steps. Pulled the rest of the remaining plugs today. Lots of carbon black but no nasty rust blob. Of course #6 was the one installed without antisieze. Shot some movit down the holes. Dabbed some coppershot on #6 and buttoned it up. If it stops raining before the 6th ill pop the valve cover...
Reinstall the nut backwards leaving a 1/4" gap
These tips are so handy with a seldom done critical task. Having the hand of experience guide you in uncharted territory fiddling with fragile part dissasembly saves the job in many situations.
Thanks Rusty! (y)
Well Happy New Year everyone! This is the last service of 2024.:naner:
I went out and pulled a couple of plugs, #3 looks good, carbon black and installed with anti sieze👍 next was #1 ground strap a little red, but without pulling the cap or valve cover its tough to know where it is in the firing...
Drug up from the dead but not forgotten..this almost done conversion lurks in one of my sea cans awaiting resurection in the spring/summer/before winter lol.
Here are some pics of the gear that replaces the pto drive gear to make the magic happen.
Mudwrench was asking.
My reasoning was that by supplying the front system from the foot valve through a qr valve vs relay, that the tandems would start to apply a hair before the fronts to aid vehicle stabillity and reduce front axle lockup, but the front should release at the same time as the rears.
The foot valve...
Drawbacks.. The main drawback i can see to this system is you wont have an indicator of brake wear/adjustment by pedal height.
As with any high performance system it will require us to level up as operators and mechanics and treat these vehicles as you would an S-cam truck. Daily pre trips and...
Looking at this so far, I would think a resourcefull person could get this done for $1300 CAD maybe less. I'm currently converting a single axle C60 to hydromax and i have a grand in the reman booster (core charge🤬) and master alone.
The issue i see with a hydromax conversion on a tandem is the...
*Updated* Brake chamber and master cylinder info.
A type 36 brake chamber coupled to a 1.50" bore master cylinder will deliver 2045 psi of line pressure at 100psi max air appliction. The M105 trailer uses a 1.0625" bore master for 4 wheel cylinders so a 1.50" bore master should be more than...
Hello boys and girls. Here is the result of this evenings finger painting.
This is the schematic for the air system side of what i am planning. It includes Bendix numbers for all the related valves required except for the foot valve and safety valves at the tanks and compressor. Those numbers...
Thank you very much for pointing me to that. There is so much info on these forums, but alas...for some reason i totally suck at the search.
800psi..is both good and surprising. I woulve thought it to be in the 12-1500psi range for sure. This is good news though and greatly simplifies things...
Please could one of the admins cut and paste the brake system part of this thread over to the new home i created for it as requested by inquiring minds?
Thanks🙂👌
