Has anyone had luck getting 9.00 x 16 NDCC tires? With the Army getting rid of the 3/4 ton trailers I would think that someone would have a line on some? Anyone?
I would recommend you visit the Texas National Guard museum at Camp Mabry, in Austin. They have a nice collection to include running vehicles, including a Hetzer.
Well since they mentioned his name I'm sure he heard something about it. Gotta say though that it was quite an impressive job, and I teach these guys about the Bradley! Never done one that well though.
RE: use of captured equipment
If you check ebay there is a 1943 hard cab Studebaker (-) bed which would probably be better suited for what you want. Its number is 290138283890. Let everyone know when you the the red truck up for sale. Some pics of the rear/bed would help. Jeff
If you were really interested in a jeep I would say up to 2k would be alright. Don't know if I would go more than that. What about the seat pans? It looks like welded bars instead of normal seat pans. Maybe a jeep expert can tell us if they are indeed from 1945 or are "bubba" jobs. Good luck.

Just a thought, you would probably be better off selling the GMC, Chevy, and using the money to by a late 30's or early 40's Ford & 1/2 ton. You would have less work to make a good looking German Ford troop transport. There have been several on ebay in the...
