Blue Force tracker was used to monitor the real time location of friendly forces overseas. Kind of like a video game of chess, only involving real soldiers. It helped cut back on "friendly fire" scenarios and allowed HQ to move the pawns where they thought they needed to be...
Those Air Force deuces are definitely some of the nicest, on the whole. They're the newest, usually well maintained and lightly used. They also have the dual brake circuits. Now in the unlikely event that this one has air assist steering you'll have the Cadillac of deuces....
That truck is the definition of a homemade redneck rig. Those look like custom made tracks on the rear and the front skis are homemade out of 1/2" plate secured using load binders.
Figured I'd attach my picture, of the bleeder screw, just for snits and giggles..
The primer button is the big red button in the center of the picture. The arrow points to the bleeder screw.
Ditto to the stuck rear brakes. The M931/932 are notorious for this. I think the rear drums being exposed to the elements allow them to stick easier than the cargo trucks and the lack of a weight, associated with cargo bed, make them harder to unstick afterwards.
I've got a 10 ton pintle pull trailer I've setup to pull behind my M932A2. It could handle two civilian vehicles no problem. I'd look into a 5 ton, versus the M35, for towing the weights you're looking at. Optimal tow rig would be a M915/916/920. There's a couple guys around you that have...
Just be aware that hours and mileage shown mean nothing. When speedometers are replaced the mileage now shows as zero. The surface rust on that rig looks about average, for a non show truck that's 35-45 years old. Especially one from an area that salts its roads. The fact that he drives it...
Anything is possible but I haven't seen the EPA set up shop in any of the swamp buggy guy's a$$es around here yet, when they crash their contraptions while their being trailered, so I think I'll be ok. Besides, if the feds want to screw with you they'll find a way and there's not a lot you can...
Tires are 28L-26. I didn't lift it but I did have to trim the front fenders a bit. Without the lift the backspacing on the front wheels is pretty ugly, due to the steering gear box. If I go full hydro steering I'll probably redo the front wheels to tuck them in more. I'd rather do that that...
The only difference in winches, according to the TM, is that the M936A0/A1 has the level wind device on top of the winch; whereas M936A2 do not. Operators TM-10 (2-22) Page 219.
