The OP posted he scales his load out so not to overload the axles. He also posted to subtract the gooseneck weight. Makes sense to me, I think. He also mentioned he is stopping at the required scales.
I suppose if he put a gen set and a dump truck on there, maybe pulled off a bumper and posted...
I'm not a towing expert, but as I read the OPs post he says that 30% of his load is on the trucks rear axle. He said he checks rack axle to make sure it isn't overloaded and if so moves the load. That would be the same as a semi adjusting the trailer bogies.

See post 32. They better step their game WAY up, cuz the more I try to use it, the less I like it. After extensive use I would rate it a D, down from a C. The lock is crap and needs constant attention. It's just...
At least with the civie trailer he had trailer brakes. If he would have tried to pintel tow it to save the trailer weight he would have still been screwed trying to STOP it.
That's what happens when you try to tow a big ole trailer with a Pinto.

Everything is switched off with the ignition switch, so I added one accessory plug...
The dual alt, three battery setup just saved me from calling for help. Today's mission was to go to the local mega church and transport tables and chairs to the fire station for our Troop's big Breakfast With Santa fundraiser going on this Saturday. Two years ago we moved everything easily...
I prolly would have kept it as a spare. Then again I carry two dog bones, an alt, 3 sets of filters, a full set of hoses and a tow bar with me.
The alt is because I ordered two by mistake and the hoses are because I've been too lazy to install them.
Good luck with yours - it's probably...
So what I'm learning today -
Reality shows AREN'T real.
Warthog really ISN'T a F ing bully.
Doghead ISN'T the second coming of Elvis.
What's next? Wrasslin' isn't real?
