THANKS!!
..but seriously I must give a public thank you to NDT who helped me get my M916 recovered.. A few troubles, a few trips, but ultimately a few calls to him made the difference in getting the "Ugly Duckling" moving. For those who don't know it has the 16 speed Cat 7155 Semi-Automatic in...
Working at getting the new to me m916 operational. Mechanically it is great, 2011 rebuild, but won't build air past 30 psi on the rear tank, front tank gauge is inop. I've been reading the tms and searching SS to prepare for the recovery but I'm at a loss so far. I attempted to air up the system...
Just got a call from Jeepsinker, he was traveling towards Austin with his m936a2 towing an m923a2. He said his rear left wheel studs on his wrecker sheered off completely and he is on the side of the road. No injuries but the rim is shredded. He has a replacement tire/rim but the studs are...
I recently picked up a MEP-017A from GSA and the VFD bypassed the fuses on the voltage regulator with alligator clips. Needless to say this is unsafe, I have no info on the missing fuses as they are MIA. Looking up the TM and searching has produced no results.
The buzzer goes off upon flipping the power switch and it starts the engine just fine but no power is reaching the electric gauges, lights, or blinkers. Bulbs and gauges have tested good, batteries are topped off, and alternator is new (with a tested output). The wires have been traced with the...
I have a USAF 1966 KJ that was converted from a gasser. The old style tail lights, old exhaust, extra radiator space, USAF safety stickers, etc..etc.. leads me to believe this. The old style gas tank is military in nature but nothing I can visually reference from searching. The multi in it now...
I'd like to mention Brian at GSA's Forestry and Fire Prevention Branch in Louisiana for his willingness to help and all-in-all good company. Though I came fully prepared, he offered his facilities and services to make sure things went smoothly and tossed a few freebies my way. I promised to...
I've gone off the SS grid for a while as some have noticed. No I haven't lost interest, just taking my time for the right opportunity to present itself..and it did. They story goes a little something like this..
THE RECOVERY
A few weeks ago I had the luck of running into a guy we will call...
Source for M101A2 Tires and Rims
Does anyone have a source for M101A2 tires and/or rims? I'm in Texas. The places I've called either don't stock the size or they are dry rot like none other. If a local member has a spare that would be good too.
I didn't find the TM 9-2330-231-14&P in our TM section so I thought it was be wise to post a link here until it is available.

On that note, does anyone have the dimensions for inside the bed? The TM only gives overall dimensions.
Any idea what this went to? My truck had a heater at one point but was removed at toole depot and all gauges have been removed so tracing was all but impossible at GL. Also these short plugs...possible setup for convoy lights at one time?
I have a hardtop in place on my m35a2 but want to put a gunner cutout for a gun ring in. Yes im aware it may leak and etc, but theres been little instruction on how to actually make the modification. I've searched. What I have noticed is a trend in the motor-pool level mods done: reinforcement...
Does anyone have knowledge into the inter-working of GSA's sales? I'm not talking auction questions but what happens after that, the paper work trail. I called GSA today with a few question, friendly folks by the way, and I was told they cant process/auction any DoD equipment because their...
