Hey welcome to the demented and unstable collecters of green stuff, greg in Elmhurst is a tresure chest of info, and a great guy to know- he saved a friend of mine who broke down on I-80 by 294, he droped everything and came out to help, and then towed him all the way north towards Wauconda...
Welcome to the club, lots of info in here- knowledge and hands on experience - if in quarry
just log on and ask a question- somebody always has the right answer or I should say a selection on possible answers
Try taking off the hood, strap a not so good friend or local neighbor kid on to the fender and find a big parking lot, it works most of the time.
Check the radiator on the outside from the bottom to the top for heat displacement, the heat should be consistent for both top and bottom if not you have a blocked radiator and will over heat with in a short time- 40+ years of rust and gunk in engine coolant system the can really take a toll on...
The scuttle butt is that the government is going to reactivate the 800 series, including re-manufacturing needed parts and components for these series- due to the fact that other series that are out there are not cutting the mustard in the higher altitudes with a more than acceptable...

Just checking in, I got back from Iola show the other day, and was wondering if you guys had picked a date yet for the camp outing, so I can contact the local members in my area
about the event- thanks john.
What you could do - well that's what I did and works real good, M796 bolster trailer cut what's not needed, on the M109a3 lift body from the frame cut behind the cab, pull the axles and suspension. Weld the frame to bolster trailer and lift body on to fame and bolt.
A friends brother I know was involves with Hummer kits, Ford pickup frames and such - and the fabricator making the kits was hit with a cease and desist order for the front hood look a like- which changed the basic design look.
They had to cut the frame in the middle some where to shorten the frame length,
to move the rear axles on the frame forward- I doubt it, just cutting them off the frame and
moving to a new position is a real challenge with out destroying them, but I guess it could be done but very time...
Yes unfortunately, I seen specialized vehicles at Great Lakes in limbo for over a year, I asked the GL rep what the story was and he stated it was going to Israel- and waiting for transportation to the east coast. :|
You can setup on Thursday I have for years, Mary who runs the show and her people are real nice to deal with and try to accommodate all sellers with their needs.
